We have our ceilings at 10’11”. I ordered the 1000 mm extension which is for 10’8″ – 11’10”. However it seems like it is too tall….the pole will not go all the way up….is there something I can to to take off a few inches? I have my extension screwed all the way as low is it can go (along the bottom).

Also, I bought a perm. ceiling mount for a flat ceiling. Does this need to be put into a joist? My guess is yes, but there are only four holes and I don’t thinks a joist is 3″ wide, which is what the holes seem to be. Thanks for your help!
