has anyone seen this girl before and knows who it is:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ml7T3nIIg3o

after 5min she´s still able to do four handstand lift (split grip not tg!) in a row although she did a lot of hard moves before. the split from the superman in the end is awsome, too

she´s so strong and inspiring and thought you veeners should see her, too ^^

Her name is Irina Savina.  I've never heard of her.  Here are a couple links, apparently she was supposed to compete here, but her visa got revoked due to it being a pole dance competition:

    thanks aybee for the links!

she´s so amazing it´s so unfair that she didn´t get the chance to take part in the competition

@organic angel: very high goal 🙂 aren´t you pregnant at the moment? this would make it even harder 😉

@emotioncatcher- Ya, but baby is making her debut close very soon! I have 7 more weeks til full term(37 weeks then) and I have been poling since '06 so I know I will bounce back quick. I was doing the handspring, caterpillar and all that "jazz" even until 22 weeks preggers 🙂 No goal is too high;)

Thanks for stumbling on this. I love seeing amazing pole artists!

@organic angel-Im gonna need WAAAY more than a year to reach her status 🙁

@aybee77-Thats an unfair reason to revoke a visa https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_confused.gif

@organic angel: oh only 7 weeks? that´s awsome! hope you will have afterwards still enough time for you pole. even after injuries most pole dancer are quick back to their old level, so after being pregnant it should be no problem. and it´ll also help you to stay in shape

@emotioncatcher-I hope its only 7 weeks-buty it could be as late as 10 weeks(your due date is at 40 weeks but your full term is 37 weeks). My last lil one came at 37 1/ weeks. I have gained only two more pounds than what I was at 22 weeks. I am still lil I think at 128 lbs. I was 107 to begin with. I will be back to doing shows on weekends 6-8 wks after, so I should gain the strength back quickly. The good thing about being home with my lil one right now is that all I have is time 🙂 Who knows how much of it will be back in the studio, but with my pole at home and Veena's lessons, that is all I'll need. I loved poling after baby number 1 because your abs came back so quick!  But not just your abs, everything gets really nice:) I LOVE pole.

I loved seeing all the different things she did. Her style was truly unique and she added in really cool twists to the moves we have seen a gazillion times. I hope she is able to compete or take it as far as she wants to!  She definately deserves recogized pole status.

She is def. amazing and I admire the twists she adds to moves we have seen a zillion times. It sucks that her visa didn't get approved; I also hopes she takes it as far as she can, she def. deserves to compete here!

FYI, 37 weeks is NOT full term and is associated with various pregnancy/fetal risks. 38 weeks is considered “full term” but the longer the baby is in the better.

37 weeks is full term 🙂 I had my first at 36 and everything was great. The next 2 came around 37 1/2 weeks and the last was 39. That felt like forever! lol

WOW!~ That was like super hero strength! Dont even know how that is possible! Thanks @emotioncatcher for sharing. I favorited.

@organic angel, you are making me sad! I was 103 when got pregnant w my first baby (was 23) , now after 3 kids and 16 years I am 140. I work and work and never move from here! (im 38 now)

    – ps my first 2 I had at home, homebirths- at 42 weeks (pure torture), my 3rd my blood pressure was high so had to be induced in the hospital. My doc said I was full term at 37 weeks and brought me in

My son was 9.4lbs at 42 weeks, my last daughter was 8.1 @ 37 weeks, she would have been a monster left in! lol

Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy. I am sure you will be back and strong as ever in no time!

WOW THAT WAS THE MOST AMAZING PERFORMANCE EVER!!  https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_surprised.gif  hopefully she will receive an apology for being denied the visa, and be able to compete in the future. maybe if enough people protest/ask for a reconsideration –  it seems so unfair.

I can't wait for Zoraya to come back to Aus, last time she was here she was doing workshops for Advanced and above students and I'd only just started advanced so i didn't want to do the workshop for fear of holding everyone else there (more experienced) back.

Come on April 2012!!!! hahahaha https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

    @ Candle-

I think the terms must have different definitions when it comes to the baby thing. Here in the due date is given at 40 weeks but "full term" is the date at which the baby is fully developed, and therefor "full term". I had my lil one at 37 weeks 4 days, so she was full term, even though she was here before her due date.

OMgoodness! I can't believe you had the baby in your car! Congrats to you on all of your babies and on  your success with that last one!

Here in the states, they also don't usually let a woman go past a week late(past 40 weeks). They fear that the babies will get too big and will need c-sections.

I am getting antsy to see my lil one….33 weeks now:)

It just blows my mind that she stayed on the pole for over 5 minutes… lift after lift after lift. Can I have her water, please?
