Here is the current state of my shoulder mount flip. My goal is to end in a sit instead of landing on the floor. I would also like to avoid trap muscle pain. Any feedback will be appreciated.

Ok. It’s looking good. Seeing and hearing the video, I bet you’re having a hard time because the SM is too “heavy”, and happening too fast. To make it lighter and slower try this:

The flip needs to be more vertical, right now it’s too sideways, making it harder to control.

You need to be able to almost stall at the top, so you can control the descent. This will allow you to choose how and where you will land. Working on getting the flip more vertical will help a lot with this.

Think UP instead of OVER. Using the Veena grip like you are, should allow you to go slower than other grips.

You can try different head positions too. Try looking up for as long as you can, to help you maintain a more vertical trajectory. Looking towards the shoulder can help complete the flip, but only if you’re able to get vertical.

    You’ve got this!
