Studio in the back! It's really nice, actually. The biggest pole space I've ever had! It's got hardwood floors, and… well, the height isn't exactly ideal, but it's not like my pole is any taller anyways!

I've had my pole in my living room, my kitchen, and in the downstairs of my parent's house when they had it. Living room was alright, since it was big, and I got used to the carpet pretty quickly. Kitchen was… more of a nuisance, since I had to move the table around pretty far, and make sure I didn't kick the counters! And the flooring was really grippy, and really hurt my feet (I had to get some Foot Undeez for that one). Downstairs of my parents house… was cold! Cement floor with just a carpet on it? Brrr!

But this pole space right now is probably the best I've ever had. 🙂

I dream of building a house tall enough for me to put in a really HUGE pole, like an 18 foot or something. Hardwood floors, spiral staircase… *sigh* one day!

I use a spare bedroom for my pole, and, I found a lot of huge mirrors on Craigslist and in the trash when the hospital was renovated lol. Free is always good!

I can honestly say after years of griping about it that I have a really beautiful pole space now. I do wish it were just a foot or two wider but that's being awfully picky. The room is the second bedroom in my home. It used to be the garage but was professionally finished out and has nice slick soft laminate floors that I can slide on, tall vaulted ceilings, nice soothing color, and it has a door that walks out to the nice patio in the backyard.

For a while I was using the space as an office and had some other odds and ends in there, but I recently got the chance to clear it all out and having a room that is just for dance has been absolutely amazing. I feel very grateful to be able to have a house to myself and a space dedicated just to dance.

But this is after three years of carpet and low ceilings so I earned it damnit! LOL (I used to complain so seriously constantly. Seriously. Carpet hate.)

Mines in the kitchen, it's the only space for it to go,  it is easily seen by anyone coming to our main door  and does get a few strange and quizzical looks but I don't  care because I love my pole!!!

I used to have my pole smack bang in the middle of the formal lounge, but husband didn't like it in there as it was also smack bang in the middle of the TV ha ha!

It's now in the "spare" room, which has been a bit of a junk room, but I'm gradually clearing it out.  It's carpeted, and I also have a crash mat.  I don't mind carpet at all.  There's not much room for floorwork in there though – and not a lot of pole room either really, but it's the best I can do.  I bought 3 long narrow mirrors and got another couple of large square-ish mirrors from a neighbour who was getting rid of them. I've got various posters too, which I need to put up somewhere.  My hoop is in there too.  The room has a handy hook which holds my hoop when not in use.

A friend sent me some mirror decals which I plan to put into use once I've got the mirrors up on the wall (they are only placed around the walls, roughly in position, but still with their cardboard packing on them!

All the ceilings in this house are really low 🙁  X-pole plus one smallish extension, and that's it! About 7 or 8 feet I think (too lazy to get the tape measure out!)
