    Hi cuties

i’m curious to know, other than obvious beneftis (agility, grip strength, core etc), has pole dance made you stronger and better at fighting someone? Let me know your experiences!!!

I’ve been practicing for 1 year but already got much stronger as my boyfriend noticed during our silly play fight 🙂 I am more confident!

    What an interesting question!

I’ve not gotten into a physical fight with anyone, so I can’t say that it’s improved my ability to fight.

However, pole does as you mentioned improve all aspects of our strength, mobility and if you dance and not only work on tricks. You’ll improve your stamina, maneuverability and agility.

I have no doubt that most pole dancers could overtake someone who’s their size who doesn’t workout.

I do BJJ and muay thai and I’m going to say no. 90% of fighting isn’t strength, it’s technique. If you’re curious you can go to an open mat and try sparring with someone your size. Strength is helpful but only if you know how to use it. I think all women should do a year of BJJ to learn to basics of self defense.
