Are you dry or sweaty? It all depends on your skin type. Why do you slide? Sweat or from dry skin?
-
I have a video on you tube about this and I review some products. Tnksdrmgrl is my channel.
-
i think both…lol sounds weird but sometimes its cuz the pole is cold and im just getting started, then when it warms up my hands sweat, not that much tho…so idk! lol
-
Most people are both. I like and itac for when I am warming up. I like mighty grip for sweaty hands.

Before you go for the expensive stuff, run over to walmart and get some corn huskers lotion. Smera that all over your body. That will help you stick to the pole with your body. If your hands are sweating, spray some distilled white vinegar on them (cleaning isle), that sometimes helps decrease the sweating for some girls. If your hands need some extra grip, an instructor recomended "heel to toe peppermint sloughing lotion" for my hands. I tried it when I was trying her stainless steel star stand alone and it was cold and super slippery. It totally helped with my hand grip (it is counterintuitive that a lotion would help with grip, but it WORKED!)
Also, you MUST lotion every night. Hydrated skin grips better. Get some "Vaseline total moisture conditioning" lotion and put it on after you shower. You can even pole after putting it on, just let it dry. My skin grips so much better since I started using it! It's glycerine based. It is really awesome. Walmart has a sampler bottle for less than a dollar that you can try.

FYI, if I REALLY am struggling, I'll use some iTac. I find Dew point to be about the same as corn huskers lotion.

sensualscemitar- thnx for those ideas! hope i can find the cornhuskers stuff, and yes i do moisturize after every shower! thank u, cant wait to try these

also is there a certian brand to look for with the peppermint lotion??
-
Heel to Toe is the brand. Never thought of that as grip aid. Hmmmmm….(runs to bathroom cabinet)

My absolute favorite grip aid is called Liquid Grip. It is made for weightlifting but works great with my skin.
-
Heel to Toe is a subtle grip, so if you are looking for something to make you cling, then you will definitely need something stronger. If you want to try it though, it is only sold at Sally's Beauty Supply. Worst case scenario is you don't like it as a grip and you have a nice foot lotion.
I got my corn huskers lotion at Fred Meyer, but I KNOW I've seen it at Wamart.
Is your body lotion glycerin based or oil based?? Oil based lotions may add a little slipperiness to your body that you don't want .
-
yes it is glycerin, its the dollar general version of vasseline cocoa butter. does the corn huskers work on your hands too?
-
I haven't tried it on my hands. Maybe chemmie would know. She was one of the who recommended it to me.
-
i mean the corn huskers on ur hands too, guess i will jus try it
-
Cocoa butter is a no no. That will sit on top of your skin as opposed to being absorbed. Not sure about the corn huskers and hand grip. I read about it on another forum and know that many poeple have found success with it. Nymphadora is a regular user during the winter months. I like the liquid grip just because the stuff stays on your hands….and I mean STAYS, even through a light washing!
-
I use corn huskers everywhere in winter inculding my hands. Or did lately my grip aid of choice has been . Even on my hands but I always keep corn huskers here as well. And in my purse, just in case lol.

oh it should be noted I have the DRIEST skin on earth. I could literally slather myself in oil and in minutes its totally soaked in and within an hour I'm getting flaky again. I rarely sweat. I clean stalls in jeans and a tshirt in 85 degree temps and never break a sweat. Humidity is my friend not foe. So I'm a bit odd lol.
-
ok i notice when i get my hands a little damp they grip better, does this mean my hands r dry? im thinking they r more dry since there r white cracks in my fingers lol they dont seem to sweat too often just here and there
-
Nymphdanser, me TOO!!! I can use lotion AND !!!! My skin will flake off on my clothes and carpet when poking and cause slipping if I do not grease up! Lol!!!
