Would you recommend the lessons on here!?
Posted by Beautifulfreak on February 13, 2011 at 4:37 pmOkay Veena! Please don't be offended! lol
I am amazed by the amount of lessons on here…!!! But I'm strapped for cash at the moment!
I will also be having a breast re-augmentation in 2 weeks and will not be able to excercise for 6 weeks after! But by then I should have some cash to pay for a GOLD membership on here.
Please tell me how much you love the lessons and if they have helped you girls!!!
Peace,
Maxine

Yes. Of all the lessons I've tried and tested, I would say Veena's help very much for learning moves.
As always, I would say go for some in-person lessons if you can, at a studio, but if you cannot, then go for these. They're great, and have helped me a lot to determine a lot of issues I'm having with my own dancing.

I actually just paid for Veena's lessons today and I have been watching her videos to see what they are like. I take lessons at a studio, but I think Veena's lessons are great for practicing on my own! She really breaks down all of the moves…..some things that I had trouble with in class seem easier after I watch Veena's lessons 🙂

Veena's lessons are a bargain as far as I'm concerned. I think a year's membership was equivalent to one private lesson at the majority of pole schools around where I live which was what made me take it up here, and I haven't regretted it.
I think Veena's lessons are easy to understand, give great tips and pointers and give you an excellent build up to the different moves. What's more Veena seems to be extremely active on the forums, and from what I've seen if you're struggling with something she's more than happy to offer advice – I've seen her offer to look at what people are doing on webcam through the site chat and such, which is pretty amazing. I can't think of anywhere else you'd get that kind of support!
I don't know how advanced you are already – I'm a complete noob, so a longer time frame for the lessons made sense of me anyway, but I'd say if you're going to sign up, seriously consider paying a bit extra for a longer length of time. I think it's a bargain, certainly cheaper than a series of DVDs, regular updates, advice and support… yes, go for it!

I take classes every week, and still bought the gold-membership – nothing can be as good as training with other people, but if you can't, go for it! if you do go to classes – go for it! either way, veena's lessons are very very helpful.
I like to watch her explainations of the moves I've already learnt again, at home. Because of her lessons, I was able to correct some mistakes I was making, or found an other, sometimes easier way to get into or out of a move – and I love that I can learn moves here that my trainer hasn't taught me yet https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif
You should definitely try them https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cool.gif

Well i just sing up today at studiovenna.com, and i'm thinking to get de gold membership, but i have a question.
The lessons are ordered by dificult? The videos are ordered to learn and increase the dificuld step by step?
Thanks.
At the moment i'm learning using video tutorials from youtube…https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

I have a membership with her and I also go to a studio. I find that Veena breaks down the move very thoroughly. There was a time that I was learning the extended butterfly and I couldn't get it down at the atudio but then when I saw Veena's lesson. She mentioned a very important tip. I did what she said and I nailed it! So yeah I highly recommend her. 🙂

Yes, the lessons are done in a way that you start off learning the basics and progress with each lesson. You can skip between them if you like, but if you go through them in sequence you'll get the most out of it.
There are the beginner lessons, intermediate and advanced as well as stretching and strength building sections.
Three months in on just Veena's lessons and I've just started on the inverts, which are half way through the intermediate lessons. Still lots to work on!

Thank you for the detailed replies!! I so badly want to buy but there is no point untill i am fully healed from surgery!
You have all made me feel like I NEED these in my life! ha ha
As for value I think it is SUPER cheap!!!
I have taken 4 studio classes at a local gym and thats all!
And https://www.studioveena.com/users/view/4d58486b-2d74-4808-80db-4ae20ac37250 they are listed as beginner, intermediet and advanced! there are also stretches and strength lessons and lap dancing 😉
-
Yes i know, but i refer inside the list, maybe i don't explained well https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif
If i get the gold membership i take a lock for stretches and strengh lessons, but i go to a gym and make weights lifting and classes to get flexibility (my worst point https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif).
Here in barcelona, can't get a place to learn pole dance, at least a place where can man go to learn… (a bit sexist actitude…)https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_eek.gif

I’d like to put in my vote for veenas lessons. They’re amazing! I’m learning so much from them, they’re all about technique and I like that.
Also I’d love to know how you feel getting on the pole after your re-op? I had my BA a year ago and it delayed me starting on the pole too.
Do you have CC or just changing size?
-
CeledaBcn – since you have signed up you can see what lessons you will get but you just can't watch them yet! And yes Veena will start you off with easy stretches/pole dance moves and then they get harder……also I was in Barcelona at the start of January! You live in a beautiful city! Me gusto mucho, pero era triste dejar!
And Salubivires – I have cc in the right and I am pushing to go as big as I can at the moment! plus i will let you know how it goes xx

Veena's lessons are great! They helped me to realize that one reason I was having trouble advancing was because I was taught a lot of the basics wrong at the studio I started at! I used the lessons on here to (at first) re-learn a lot of basic stuff, as well as the strengthening and stretching lessons are GREAT! And now that I am confident that I have the basics mastered, I have been able to get other moves that were completely out of my reach before.
Veena is a great teacher! I havn't had the lessons in a while, so I can't wait to get another membership and check out the newer ones especially the routined! 🙂
-
@ CeledaBcn, Yes, inside each level the lessons are placed in order in which you should learn them. Wow guys I'm so happy to see your enjoying the lessons! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

I have bought the monthly membership twice and loved the lessons. Waiting for some money to clear my paypal account so that I can get the year long membership. I will still go to my local studio since I dont have a lot of space for extended leg spins, if I did I would be happy to learn by Veena’s lessons alone. She has so many lessons on here for moves that I never learned or even seen at the studio.

I have purchased the lessons yearly since Veena started offering them! I own my studio and teach…I find them invaluable for a teaching reference as well as working on my own stuff…since there is no one here to teach me the advanced moves….and what's wonderful is they are available 24/7 and there is always something new and or updated versus a DVD that becomes outdated! It is the BEST investment I've made in my business!!

I take classes at a studio 3x week, but Veena's lessons are a fantastic option if you have a pole at home!
She breaks the movements down prefectly and emphasizes the correct muscle group to use when performing, doesn't seem all that important when you're starting out, but man is it helpful when you're trying to perfect a move.
You should try out SV's lessons for a month and see what you think 😉
-
I teach at a local studio, and YES, VEENA's lessons are WONDERFUL. Not only do they do a very thorough breakdown of the moves, they identify which muscle groups are used. I have also found that in teaching pole, one person can tell/show you how to do something and another person can tell/show you the exact same move, but sometimes you 'GET' what one person says, and not the other one. If that makes any sense at all. So either stand alone, or with your local studio, I say GET the membership. Another great thing, is when you learn a new trick, say at the studio, sometimes you forget it when you get home, with VEENA, she is ready to teach you, whenever you need her. Wow, do I sound like a commercial or what? lol

I would definitely recommend VEENA’s membership. Personally it is an awesome investment & has saved me a lot of money. There aren’t any pole studios in my area. It’s almost taboo here (though we have the Larry Flynt Hustler Club…go figure). I was gassing up my SUV driving 300 miles to another city(Dallas) to take lessons on the weekends. With the cost of classes, gas, hotel stay & food, I was spending $250 each trip at the least. But it was worth it knowing I’m trying to open the first studio in my area. My teacher (whom I love to death) recommended I join this community & now I’m not having to travel as much. Praying for you a speedy recovery sweetie.

I have NO studio near me so when I started poling a year and a half ago there was only some random…and NOT very good YT tutorials..there are exceptions but who has time to rifle through all the crap on YT? And then I joined SV and the lessons and I LOVE them. Love how the new website has them organized and the additions of strength training and some routines …it's perfect. 'Nuff said. Excellent investment. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

Yes! Her lessons are unique and very easy to follow. I bought the two month package and I couldn’t be happier. I don’t think I would’ve progressed as fast without them!!

*sings* Get the lessons, the lessons, the good Veena lessons, the lessons, the lessons, the good Veena lessons, the lessons, the lessons, the good Veena lessons, you'll never regret it, you'll never despair (to the tune of "The Irish Washerwoman").
I LOVE 'em and wouldn't be without 'em!!!

Maxine, I was in a similar position as you are, except my hang-up was that I had left my pole at the studio I was helping out and then could not get it disassembled for about two months after that. (Pesky old threaded type pole.) So now that I'm getting back into it, I'm veeerrryyy rusty. Things that used to be second nature to me like wrist sits (I ate s*** the first time I tried it once getting the pole up at home) and inverts are suddenly difficult again and I was struggling to even make my spins look as graceful as they used to be. Calluses gone, muscle tone gone…hey…where did I pick up these extra 5 pounds?
Then I finally broke down. I paid the darn $20 and stopped surfing youtube and member videos, trying to break things down. And man, was it worth it. She breaks down the points of contacts, exactly how to position your limbs/body, and she's just plain cute to watch, to boot. I couldn't be more happy, and it's wonderful to progress a bit as I slowly build up my strength and flexibility and get back some of that "bruise proofness" that I'm lacking now. I like going through the categories (beginner and intermediate for me so far) after my warmup and doing the moves as kind of a "checklist" watch the video, do the move – yes I can do that one! When I get to one I'm rusty at, I'll go through Veena's steps and break it down, figure out what I need to improve and most past it. I'm working on my Gemini right now, gotta build up that knee pit toughness!
Go for it, when you think the timing is best for you!

I have really enjoyed the lessons also. I watch them over and over. Throughout the day I will watch the moves I want to work on that night. I take lessons at a studio but I think Veena does a better job explaining each move than my teacher. Veena will mention a small movement or placement of an arm or leg that will suddenly make you get it.
Veena, I would recommend that you have a sample lesson or two available for public viewing so people who are considering whether to purchase can watch and see your teaching style. I know when I was trying to decide whether to purchase I looked all over your site and on youtube to see if I could find a video by you. I didn't find one, but finally decided to take a chance and buy anyway. But watching a sample video would make the decision easier and perhaps tip some in the direction of subscribing.
