  • Why isn’t my x pole stage spinning very well?

Posted by Leannehill854626 on March 11, 2015 at 1:07 pm

    Hey guys & gals.
So here’s my problem. I purchased a second hand x pole stage yesterday the lady has only had it approx 6 months. So I put it together and when it’s on spinning mode is doesn’t really spin so the spinning function is no use to me which is a bit sad 🙁 so just wondering if any of you had some advice on what I can do to make it spin faster.
    Thanks

The stages never spin as fast as the floor to ceiling models. In the floor to ceiling you have 2 bearings that help keep the pole spinning and also it is spinning in one plane. The stages have one bearing and typically you will lose some of that due to the wobble of the top of the pole.

Thanks for the reply 🙂 however when I have watched videos on the Xpole stage it spins just as freely as the Xpole sport so I’m a little confused as to why. Could it be an assembly problem? Xxx

X-Stage Spin – because the stage pole is not supported at the top a side load is placed on the bearing system during use and so a stage will not spin as well as a floor to ceiling pole, but they do spin nicely/freely.

First check that the static and spinning screws are undone. Tighten them and check the pole is in static and then undo them – at least 1.5 turns – and check the spin. If that does not work then……..

There are 2x bearing points; The Main Bearing Unit – the one with Cone attached to the A-Pole – and the Bottom Bearings which are at the bottom of the stage frame tube. Take a look down the center hole in the main frame.

The main bearing unit on the A-Pole has 2x big bearings in it and providing they are in-line should not be a problem. To check, take out the A-Pole and main bearing from the stage and see if the bearing body (the flat part of the bearing unit, not the cone) rotates smoothly. If it is smooth and easy to rotate it is fine. If it feels rough or tight to turn, it is most likely that the bearings are damaged or out of alignment. Please return the bearing on its own (no pole) to X-Pole for service.

The other cause of a bad spin are the bottom bearings – there are 2 close together. If the pole has been dropped into the stage frame or forced in it can damage theses bearings. These can be replaced. The way to check these is to remove the bearing unit from the A-Pole, carefully insert the pole down the frame tube into the bearings and, keeping the pole vertical (in the center of the hole), rotate the pole. Again if it feels rough or stiff the bearings need replacing. Please contact your local office who can give advice and help on changing them. That is not difficult but some mechanical knowledge will help.

If in any doubt please contact your local office.
