Due to a bunch of ridiculous bullshit going on in my life, I have lost 10 pounds in about as many days. I also took about a week off from the pole. I was not overweight before at all…I was 5’2” approximately 105 lbs, now I am at 5’2” approximately 95 lbs. But now whenever I try to do any pole tricks, my ass slides right down the pole, regardless of how much dry hands I apply or how warm the pole is. It feels like I no longer have enough fat/skin/mass/muscle/whatever to make myself stick to the pole 🙁 If it makes any difference, I’m at the intermediate level- I‘ve got my inverts and was just starting to get my gemini and scorpio. Have any of you ladies (or gentleman) who lost weight had this issue? If so how did you solve it?

I actually had this issue recently. At the end of last year I had surgery, was not working out , there fore had no appetite and lost 8 lbs.(on a 5’1 frame). When I first returned to pole I noticed I was struggling with my CAR and CKR. Actually, any move that required me to hold on with my legs. I had to mentally be aware that I needed to squeeze much tighter than I use too. Happy to say now I am back to my regular weight and those moves are back to normal.

I havent had this problem, although I would love to lose 10lbs but under positive circumstances…but I would imagine you are probably physically drained and temporarily weak from losing that much weight suddenly. you will probably regain your strength and grip in a week or two after healthy rest and eating

Yeah my CKR, CAR, and my planks seem to be giving me the most trouble- really anything where I have to hold on with my thighs. After applying a metric fuck ton of grip aid and trying to squeeze tighter, I think they’re starting to get better now. I’m hoping that it’s just me being physically drained.

yeah, sometimes I will suddenly Lose a pole trick that I have been doing for a while and it freaks me out. I’ve learned that I’m usually ok in a day or two and that its a temporary thing. i noticed you mentioned dry hands- I love dry hands and use it on my hands ALOT but I cant use it on my thighs at all. I literally slip and slide down the pole and have no grip when I use it on my thighs. I have found my thighs just work better with nothing on them. my own slightly sweaty thigh skin actually sticks better. dry hands may be making your situation worse if you are using it on your thighs or knee pits. but some people have very sweaty thighs that are visibly dripping sweat and may need dry hands for that. dry hands makes my thighs so dry that they slip… on the opposite end, if your skin is really dry on your thighs then you may fare better using a grippy grip aid like itac or . those are good for dry skin and are tacky and help your skin stick to the pole. but dont use itac or on your hands, they will make your hands slippery and unsafe. but yes, that’s a lot of weight in a short time! your body is probably not feeling it’s strongest. hope you are feeling better and have less stress in your life right now! 🙂

Ok interesting. I usually only need dry hands because I live in the south with lots of humidity, heat, etc., but maybe I’ll try without it. I think I also have some tite grip so I’ll give that a go today too. Thanks for your advice!
