I didn’t want to become dependent of grip aids either. haha! like its a drug or something…:) I just start out small with alcohol, washing hands, and if those are just not cutting it then I move on to dry hands. it just keeps your hands dry. it works pretty well, but I sometimes sweat through that too. do what works for you, just be safe.

There are so many types of bodies and how they react to pole. Some people will never need grip aids, ever. Some people will periodically. Some will always. It depends on how our individual bodies react to the pole. I for one always need a grip aid. My hands sweat so much its dangerous. If you feel the sweat is hindering your progress, use a grip aid. Some people just need them, period. Nothing wrong with that. I am one who is dependent on them, despite being strong. Don’t let fear of dependency keep you from using grip. It adds a safety measure. I’d rather you be dependent on them than get frustrated and quit, or try to push past it and get injured.

I dont think there is anything wrong with using it but I just didnt want it to be the only way I can do a move! Being safe is always number one priority if I do use it it will probably be when im trying something new!
