Well, I was super hasty as usual and took advice from the very first person I talked to when I starting poling and bought the Xstage Lite which would be perfect if I actually needed a travelling stage. Turns out I don’t. I am finding that I hate the cold metal stage area, the step off makes it not fun to transition into floor work which I do a TON of. So, My dilemma is this. I have a FANTASTIC dance room, hardwood floors, 10 foot ceiling and a pole I am not happy with. I want to switch it out, possible w Veenas but I have to be honest it seems to good to be true!! Super cheap ( I spent over a grand on Xpole) super easy to install!! Is it chinsy?? Is it sturdy?? It reminds me of a shower curtain rod with the “tension mount” style. Also of note, the hardwood is placed OVER cement and my hubby says “no way he’s gonna drill into it” but sounds like a non issue since its tension.. HELP me I am scratching my head just seems too good to be true, help me feel good about this decision.

XSLs are really more for public use… A standard home pole shouldn't cost >$1000 (usually 1/3 of that!). Most home poles are tension mounted. The studio veena pole is a good pole from a safe, reliable brand that has been around for almost a decade (as far as I know). It will feel different for grip than the xpole because it's a different coating. Some people like it better. Other good removable home pole choices include the xpole and the platinum stages. None of these should involve drilling into the floor. Everyone has their reasons for preferring one brand over another but all are good safe choices.  http://xpoleus.com/store/xpert-set-45mm-chrome-p-456.html

I don't know Veena's pole, I have an X-Pole, only tension and I love it. My hubby also does not want any drilling in the floor and I am trolling around the pole any chance I get and it is stabel and fine. So If you can get the Veena's pole, I would take it, or even any brand of poles that are mounted only with tension.

I have right now the X-Pole Sport, will buy later X-Pole Expert, when I will be ready for spinning.

I have not used the SV pole, but I will say that Veena and Webby would never put their name on it if they didn't think it was a great pole. As you have seen on this site and with her lessons, she is all about doing things safely. I have x-poles, but I would feel 100% safe moving to her pole, not just because her name is on it or because she says to buy it – but because she cares about other dancers and their journey.

I really like my Xpert. I've actually bought two of them so far (a 50 and a 45). I have hardwood floors in my pole room, and an 8 foot ceiling. The Xpert leaves no trace except for a faint ring from the ceiling dome that comes off with a damp paper towel. I don't even bother cleaning it off anymore because it helps me re-set the pole if I take it down.

I would consider a SV pole, but I'll probably move again at least twice more and I have no idea what my ceiling situation will be in the next place. I stuck with Xpole because it seemed like the best option for an uncertain future. I have friends with Lil Mynx and Platinum Stages one piece poles and they are very happy with them, but they need to be cut to a specific ceiling height. If I move to a place with a shorter or taller ceiling than this one, and all I need to do is buy extensions for my Xpert if it's taller. I think one piece poles are awesome and definitely the way to go if you live in a place permanently, but Xperts are great too.

All three of the big companies produce great poles with different value propositions.  If you choose a Lil Mynx, X-Pole or Platinum stages safety and quality shouldn't be an issue.

We chose to work with Lil Mynx for two reasons:

    1) Most people don't have dedicated pole space, so setup and take down need to be as quick as possible so you can get to your workout.  The StudioVeena Pole can be up or down in mere seconds.

    2) With Lil Mynx we had the ability to select a color and overall finish that delivers a look and grip experience that you can't get anywhere else.

Webmaster, is there a difference in grip from the pink, black and red powder coated poles lil mynx has? I have tried their pink pole and love the superior grip. I just purchased a condo by the ocean at Ft Lauderdale and want to purchase the SV pole as it is so easy to put up and down. I just need to measure height as soon as we close.

The grip on the Veena Pole is often described as softer.  It uses a different two stage process that results in a pole that creates amazing control.
