That’s the thing Lovely, you’re right. Everyone will react differently. I do think that for most of us we don’t have to vaccum up skin! So putting on lotion right before isn’t recommended. There will
Always be exceptions 🙂 -
when I first started poling I was using morracian oil on my hair in the shower, a little would run down the back of my legs…the residue of the oil was enough to make you slide right down the pole…"an instructor one day said I smell cocoa butter" ding ding light goes on..stopped using that and it helped a lot.
I am more dry like luvee. Pole physics is the best, but I still have use right before. I dont need grip ads then. Just a little dry hands for me. I have a little hand held steamer to help keep the pole clean too.

There's definately a few more options to try! I use Moroccan Oil as well but usually in the morning and I always make sure I wash it off right away then pole at night. I'll have to try Drysol and Cramers I haven't used either one before. I noticed today that (for once) in MT there's a lot of humidity in the air and I have absolutly no problem. That is very unusal. I'll have to take advantage of it!!

I just made the mistake of moisturizing my hair with coconut oil prior to working out. I have a ss pole, and absolutely no grip. I have sweaty hands anyway, and am thinking about switching to a brass pole. Is that the preferred material?

beegle – Do you sweat a lot when you exercise? I sweat a lot on my face, and a little on my body. That tiny amount of sweat on my body gives me super over-grip on my brass pole. It is awful. You get stuck with skin that feels like it's gonna rip. Brass is good if you don't have sticky skin when you pole. It's the same for powder coated. I personally love stainless. It's really nice when you can get past the hand sweat issue. If you want something grippy, but doesn't get too over grippy, titanium is a nice finish.
