It is not an acrylic paint and will not wear away; think of a bicycle or playground equipment. I had a powder coated LM for years in my garage and used acetone on it numerous times to get scuff marks left by my boots and nail polish off it on several occasions. Typically I just used straight isopropyl alcohol and never had issues with using grip aids either. Out of all of the pole finishes this is probably the most rugged of them all as I never once scratched my pole with my boots. The coating is baked on as opposed to being set by a solvent drying; the solvent based paints are what you need to be concerned about. If solvents put it on they can also take it off.

I have cleaned my pole with numerous products as well….and it isnt even close to wearing off…..I even sanded it slightly and still nothing comes off!

Here is an explanation of powder coating http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Powder_coating
Powder coating is a process involving applying the paint product then heating it to allow it to flow, seal and cure. It is one of the most durable finishes around which is why it is chosen for applications such as motorcycle frames.

Blush uses powder coat LM's. I would say if you are north of the 45th parallel or otherwise in dry and cold climes a good part of the year, powder just saves a lot of fuss that six months. But yes, they can get too grippy if you get a hot and humid day. But you can always make yourself less grippy with the tiniest smidgeon of lotion spread on a hot washcloth and just wipe your legs and torso down with it…

Thanks everyone!
Btw, that wikipedia link confirmed that acetone can remove PC. I suppose if it’s not 100% acetone it may not be strong enough? Idk, but it does mention it. Doesn’t really matter either way, I suppose, it’s just that I don’t want whatever cleaner I use to take the coating off. I would probably drop dead of absolute horror if I were wiping down my pole and buffed away my finish. lol

Hi all, I am new to poling. Just started January this year. Thought up until now I'd be buying an xpole. However, I've been so impressed with this site that I'm now leaning towards the studio veena pole. My concern is my ceiling. I live in a high rise condo in Florida. The ceiling is an 8" cement slab that separates the floors. There is a ceiling fan in the room but I don't know what is behind it (studs, conduit, etc). Anybody have experience with this? Thanks in advance. Claudia

Hi everyone… I just received my studioveena pole & set it up! I already had an xpert, everything was great about it except it would not properly go on spin mode. I found out that it was a problem that happened with many people… it would click, wasn't smooth, I tried to loosen the pole and it didn't help.
Now I set up my new SV pole & I don't know if i'm doing something wrong, but it seems somewhat flimsy? At least compared with my xpole… I have hardwood floors so I needto use that rubber base but I feel like that base keeps slipping if I pull on my pole hard enough with my hands to test out the pole. I tried to extend the pole as much as it can go, still being able to use that rubber thing, and no luck – I can always manage to move the base of my pole. It alarms me because when I am spinning aroud like crazy on spin mode, I really don't feel safe. And I feel really scared to go upside down too… thinking the base will slide out from under me as I switch positions. It seems to be a bit more stable without the rubber thing. Does anybody have any advice for me please? I love the powder coat & really want to use my new pole asap!

Knowing that it is based on a lil minx pole, which I have used(though I haven't used the studio veena pole) you need to extend it a little more and it should feel really stable. When you put it on the pad it will be at an angle and you should have to pull up REALLY HARD to move it into place, it should definitely not slide easily into place. Hope that helps

LiarInSexyAttire, the mechanics of the StudioVeena Pole are different than an X-Pole so it will feel different, but its based on a design proven longer than any other pole on the market. Lil Mynx currently handles our technical support, if you have any questions regarding your installation I would encourage you to call them at 1-877-700-7467.

Thanks for the super quick responses… I did try what you said drianu, I think it is better! Maybe it's just like what webmaster said, I am just used to how the xpole feels and it feels different. I'm not used to hearing the inner pole rattle when I try to jiggle it out of place for safety. I actually tried to call that number earlier today and it didn't work! I will try again tomorrow… I do love the powder coating and already I can do some things I just can't do on my xpole, so i'm really happy about that. Also it spins really nicely, properly, unlike my xpole. Thanks for the help~

For those who have purchased a Studio Veena pole, I was wondering what the grand total came out to? Is the tax already included or is it added on top of the 275 for the pole and 45 for shipping?
-
Kmccool if you live in the US the total is 320 delivered. If you live in Canada the shipped total is 375 and you will be responsible for provincial taxes when it is delivered.

The StudioVeena Pole is a great pole for beginners.
– The finish provides a unique grip experience that gives you alot of control and for most people better grip than a metal finish.
– The spin lock is a unique one touch system that is more convenient than a hex nut or a removable pin.
– Install takes about as long as it takes to setup most tension mounted poles and once the pole is installed it can be setup and removed in seconds making it much easier to use your pole space as something else like a living room 🙂

I don't own an SV pole but I have used lilmynx and powder coated poles and I think that the SV pole would be great for a beginner. Easy to set up, affordable, spin/static, and the grip will be really good, which a lot of beginners have struggle with. The PC grip will give you the extra security so that you can focus more on technique, rather than fighting just to stick to the pole.

Definitely!! All the reasons why have been stated….I bought mine for use in the sticky summer months. I get unbelievable gripping power that allows me to work without slippage!

Where can I get one around Germany?? Haven’t found anything in the net. I considered asking my family in the USA to buy one and ship over here, but it’s quite a bit of money to pay for shipping inside the US and than to ship over here and probably at customs. I also thought of getting my xpole xpert powder coated, but I wonder if that could be done at all?? Any experience or ideas for me please

X poles can be powdercoated, but X pole will be releasing a powder coated pole this year.
-
Oh really a powder coated??!! wow that’s awesome, I hope they’ll do soon 🙂 thanks for telling me, so I better wait a little longer.

oops, just found the info on the SV pole banner, it is 45MM, that's great! I had a 50MM before and it was a bit too big for my hands, so traded for an X-pole a few years back and haven't been able to do much with it. I really love the color and miss the grip of a PC.

I saw the specifications only five option availability for SV and Lil Minx poles as 1) 8ft-9df and 2) 9ft-10ft pole height. What is your next best suggested option for ceiling heights of UNDER 8ft ? I believe my ceiling is 7’8″.
