Just had my first real session on my new Studio Veena by Lil Mynx pole. Wow! The grip is incredible. I will say that it is going to take a lot of getting used to after my chrome, but it should be perfect for the up-coming summer months, which was the reason I purchased it in the first place.

In general, I have sweaty hands, and soft skin on the rest of my body. Not dry, not sweaty. Just soft. I usually use iTac on my knee pits and thighs and dry hands on my hands. I purposely did not use any grip aids, so I could see what would happen.

Without much of a warm-up, I was able to do simple spins without any trouble. I was also able to do a carousel spin right off, which I was never able to do without waiting for my body and the pole to warm up. Reverse grab needed to wait, as my hands slipped. Ten minutes later, I was good to go.

Without much of a warm-up, I was able to invert (both basic and chopper) without slipping. Easily. I went right into a butterfly with no slipping at all!

At the start, I actually felt a bit of pole burn on my body because the grip is so fantastic. This was apparent when dismounting from an inverted crucifix! Oh, my thighs! Once I was poling for a while, the slide was easier.

After a good warm-up, I felt super secure. I was afraid that better grip might make me feel lazier, but that was not the case at all. If anything, I was able to get a much better workout. For instance, I was able to do multiple caterpillars at one time instead of losing my grip and having to bail out. I was able to hold poses longer, giving my core and arms a much bigger challenge. I was actually able to do a decent half flag!!

I found that having a more secure grip meant that I was able to work on technique a lot more. I worked on the Holly Drop and didn't feel like I was going to slip off mid body twist. I could do the move in slow motion, giving me a better feel for the move.

I only did a short session on spin mode, but the verdict is the same. Better grip means  hanging on longer, and the spin mechanism is nice and smooth! I loved being able to switch from static to spin with the click of a button!

One thing I will not be doing on this pole are drops. I kinda like my skin right where it is! If you have a sweaty body, this might not be an issue for you, though.

Again, this will take some getting used to but, overall, I totally recommend this pole!!!

If anyone has any other questions about my experience, feel free to ask away!

Thank you Studio Veena for making this available!

P.S. – The color is to die for!! xoxoxo

LM are my favorite pole…..only thing is they don’t use them in comps or performances hence I am therefore stuck trying to learn on my slippery X pole since I want to perform next year in Detroit.

Lyme. You will get used to the chrome. It will certainly make your grip stronger in the long run and you can do drops without the burn! I love both of them, now!

I'm so happy to hear your thoughts on the pole Saphyre thank you for sharing!!

I had some pole burn the first time I used the pole too! lol I don't have trouble with it now though. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif I had an amazing pole workout the other day with it, I was SO happy I could still grip the pole with my legs even when I took a break and cooled off! I always had issues gripping if I cooled off, but not anymore. I hoop for my warm ups so being able to have an open space for that, then putting the pole back up when I'm ready is so amazing to me.

Lyme, remember it's a good idea for performers to use grip aids so as long as you've got your favorite picked out for use on chrome, then you shouldn't have to worry about it too much. I'm kicking myself for not trying these pole earlier!!! I'm in love https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_heart1.gif

Pole Obsession we are starting to ship to Canada.  I haven't put up the links yet, it is an additional $55US shipping.  Place the order as normal and then I'll send you a PayPal invoice for the additional funds.

How long will you be selling this pole?! I REALLY WANT ONE! But can't buy it until after the wedding so gonna ask for it for Christmas but I worry it won't still be around! I can't wait to go to Saphyre's house and play on it!

If it turns out that I'm going to need to wear gloves for poling regardless of finish (if brass isn't going to do it for me) then I am so sold on this pole! Shipping to Canada is a lot less than I thought it would be, and there is nothing that I don't like about the pole.

Thank you for the video demo, Veena, and for the review, Saphyre!

Gosh, hope there’s no problem shipping to Ontario, Canada? Also, how does the grip compare to brass poles? I ask because that’s the kind I grip the best. BTW, your pole is best price!!

pixi actually bought a brass pole and ended up powdercoating because powdercoat was her first pole before the brass… if that helps you out zpowerful 😉

I think Pixi had the brushed x pole brass, which feel VERY different from the PS brass and powder coating.

Hi, I’m from Mexico, is there a way to get a Veena pole? Thanks!

Quick question (and my apologies if this has already been answered and I’m just not seeing it or if this is just a srsly silly question) :

What kind of metal/material is this pole actually made of? I see that it’s a beautiful jewel-tone purple metallic color and that it is powder-coated…but…what’s under the coating?

Thanks in advance. I ask because my skin has a sensitivity to certain metals/materials. I am srsly considering to puchase this pole. It’s truly an amazing looking piece of equipment! 🙂

More than likely it is steel but the powder coating forms a barrier between the metal and you so it is not even an issue.  You will never have contact with the metal]

    Thankyou, Chem!

I did consult my husband about it as well and he told me powder-coating is actually a type of acryllic paint. Much like the kind used on bicycles, some cars, and such. He informed me that using any form of acetone (nail polish remover) or even rubbing alcohol can wear away the coating and cause “orange-peeling”.

    So, I have another question:

What can I use to safely clean this type of pole?
