I think that sounds like a lot of fun! Already got my song picked out, in case Veena runs with the idea. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

OOoo I have a good song as far as the movie match up goes: popular love song but no one knows what it’s from! But I’m not sure if I can pole to it… hmmm… must think on this more.

But I do like the idea, Sascha, hopefully Veena will like it, too! (we could always just do it for fun anyway, https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif)

    Bring on the Flashdance!!!

Jk..I am not sure what I would do for movie soundtrack. Probably The Cramps song from Return of the Night of the Living Dead.

I’m new- What exactly is a challenge? I mean, I understand there is a topic, but are these "contests" or is there a certain spot where all of the challenges are/ can be viewed? Or is it just something fun to keep everyone thinking???
    Thanks!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

we have optional challenges every month just for fun and inspiration. there are no winners or losers. once a month under the forum studio challenge, veena will tell us what are challenge is for the month. like 1 month was focus on floor work, 1 was dance to glam rock. the challenge can be physical, like focus on spins or use a prop, or non physical like dance to a certain type of music. you dont have to follow any order yuo can choose to do a challenge 1 month and not the next, you can decide in august you want to do march’s challenge ect
you just post your vid and label it April Challenge or whatever and if you want you can also post a link your challenege vids under forum "studio challenge"
    hope this helped https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_sunny.gif

i have an idea, i dont know if its been mentioned before (didnt read through all the pages) but i know it sure would be a challenge for me lol
but to do a routine using your "bad" side, pull people from their comfort zone and get them using more full pole-tential (cheesy beyond belief i know lol ) then maybe add some time of music theme or something on top of it or just give people free range iono lol

I am getting a little confused. I keep seeing people uploading videos from challenges from another year and month. Like Octiber 2009. Is there no time limit to get your challenges out or what???? I thought we were doing sexy bedroom songs w maybee a strip tease no nudity. Then out of nowhere I an seeing costumes???? https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_scratch.gif LOL. Just wondering. No big deal.

my idea for a challenge… dance to the song that was number 1 on your birthday! there is a facebook app and loads of other internet sites that tell you what song that was.
    Might be fun!

    Oh.

    I’ll enter my idea!

Dance in the style of your fav.

they say imitation is the highest form of flattery, so let us flatter our most beloved dancers with a study of their gloriousness.

    This is my challenge idea:

Create a routine geared towards changing the common misconception that pole dancing = stripping.
Make it tasteful, athletic and artistic. Basically a routine that you would be proud to show your parents. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif

I’m sick and tired of the reaction we as a community gets from the general populace. Why shouldn’t it be considered an athletic art? Why isn’t it suitable for a college talent show? People are so closed minded and judgmental. So lets dedicate one pole routine to changing their mind.

How about a challenge where you do everything on your weaker side? I did this as a challenge for myself a few months ago and BOY WAS IT A CHALLENGE! not only physically, but mentally as well! I caught myself standing there thinking, okay, wait, how do I do this the opposite way?? https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_scratch.gif LOL like doing the pirouettes doing to the right instead of the left for me was quite the mental challenge!

If I did that challenge I would look like I was on pole day #1. LOL

lol Me too. I am left side retarded at everything I do, not just pole. It would be horrendous to watch. Like the train wreck with bodies hanging out the windows, you don’t want to look, but you just can’t take your eyes off it.

I had an idea, lets do a challenge wearing ankle weights!! I once put on 5lbs (2.5lb per leg) ankle weights and OMG I couldn’t believe how much harder it was! I wear these ones: http://www.walmart.com/ip/Gold-s-Gym-5LB-Ankle-Weights/12177366

they are big enough to wear they don’t move around on your leg like the smaller ones, and the weights themselves are removable and are like a hard gel or something instead of metal or sand so I can wear them without shoes and they don’t hurt my ankles and if they tear sand won’t fall out and get everywhere.

The videos are posted in the video section, just click the link that says just the challenges.  As to the challenge description itself, watch the forum every month.
