So I've been really slacking on stretching. I go through different bouts of being really determined, but as soon as I lose interest I go a week without stretching and end up being back at square one.

I just haaaaate rolling out my yoga mat and lying there stretching. I find it so boring and I'm having a really hard time staying on top of it.

So, I was wondering if any of you stretch during your practice by doing certain moves? Like, I would rather work on my splits by practicing the Russian Splits on the pole, or work on my back by doing back bends or elbow stands.

As long as I hold the moves for 20-30 seconds it's the same as stretching, right? I'm trying to find ways that I know I will help with my flexibility but still have fun.

Do any of you do this? What are your favourite moves to help with your bendiness?

Since I'm a beginner, I'm not ready for crazy@ss flexy tricks. I do, however, ALWAYS stretch during my warm up and cool down. I'm sure that when I become more advanced, I will definitely do as many tricks that require flexiness, as possible, because I'm at a craze phase, when I want to be as bendy as possible. Nothing much I could help you here, heh, but good luck! 🙂

thanks, I do basic stretching before and after to prevent injury but I have difficulty doing extensive stretching. With a toddler and a home business it's hard enough finding time to pole!
