I have been doing the shoulder mount for some time now and never had this problem; until now.  Every time I pop up (the point where the legs go up above and over your head and ultimately to the pole) my collar bone is rubbing on the pole and it hurts like heck!!!  I don't know what has changed; I never had this issue before.  Apparently I have changed my form from what I had originally done and it is creating this new problem.  But, I can't figure out what or where I have changed and why it is now going wrong?!

I have been working on stalling the move at the straddled pose and playing with the legs before ultimately getting up and over and that seems to be when the problem started.

Need video hun.  When I invert I almost push myself away from the pole to get my legs higher.  I have a feeling that if you have been doing any of the splits exercises you have gained some flexibility and are able to fold yourself in half a little more than before, thus causing you to stay closer to the pole.  Of course, I may also be talking out my butt.

I wish I had my days free so I could come see you.

hm. a lot of times when people play with holding the straddle, they round their back slightly and let their pelvis drop. if you do that and then hold that position and try to bring your legs up, you'll hit your collarbone a lot sooner than if you keep a flat back with your shoulderblades closer together. could be one reason?

I include tips for avoiding the collarbone in all of the Shoulder Lessons. https://www.studioveena.com/lessons/view/4d6bac4d-8044-4fa9-9aaa-66300ac37250 Check that your placing the pole on the traps right by the neck and not off towards the outside of the body/shoulder.
