Hi! So I have my new brass X-pert for about a week now, trying some tricks on it.

When I practiced some moves in the studio using chrome pole, I had no problem doing lean back, gemini, jade and teddy stuff.

However when I'm practicing with my own pole (brass), I can't really grip well with my legs or armpit! Its just so slipperly… I can't even climb and stay long on it!

Did it really change the grip after the 'break in'? Or shall I go for chrome/TG instead?

I'm really struggling! Does anyone had similar experience?

It will become grippy when you break it in. I bought the exact same pole my studio used but it was nothing like the studio poles grip-wise. After a few months of use the grip improved enough for me to feel secure but it will be a while before it's like the studio poles. You have to remember that they're used all day, every day so are broken in a lot faster.

@ hookedonpole: I'm in Davis so let me know if you plan something 😀

@Feed Stacy Tacos: if you ever want a pole buddy let me know, I'm fairly close to you and I've got the TG if you ever wanna try it.

I just got the brass xpole a couple weeks ago. I love it. I sweat when I dance and I love that brass still offers some grip with a little sweat.

To compare I bought a TG extension to use on my 50 mm chrome (so I basically have a hybrid pole, half TG/half chrome). I do like the TG and it's definitely grippier than chrome, but every once in a while it just seems to get damp and then it's really slick.

At the studio I go to they have chrome poles which are really broken in. I like chrome just fine until I start to sweat and then it's all over.
