Reinforcement for LM polePosted by Legs4Days on February 9, 2013 at 7:54 pmhi, I want to add a little block of wood for reinforcement in the ceiling for the LM pole when I get it. Has anyone ever used the small wooden plaques that u can get from the craft stores? Legs4Days replied 12 years, 8 months ago 6 Members · 9 Replies

Not sure what you mean, but you shouldn't need any reinforcement…..

you have to drill in a beam! if you re goin through sheetrock only and thinking adding a piede of wood will do it, it is dangerous! you need to drill into the beam!

Right, like Olivia said. If your thihnking of using a wood piece instead of a beam/joist, you cant do this. It needs to be screwed into the joist.
-
Oh yes, I am going to put it in the joist for sure..just read somewhere that a block of wood would add even more reinforecement.
-
where did you read that? are you sure that was for LM? Some people put a circle piece of wood under their x pole dome. that is entirely different.
-
If you use a wood block the screw the company provides won’t reach the joist.
-
Yes , it was a LM pole and the person who posted said she had to get a longer screw.

I wouldn't add anything to the mount. It's meant to screw right into the ceiling and stud.
