I’m having trouble. I got advice from one of the members here on my front split but it seems impossible to do it. She said if I turn my back leg so that my knee was facing the floor instead of out then I could go down a little lower. I tried it today and I just couldn’t do it. It’s like my hip wont rotate that way. After having pains with a straddle split I when to a chiroprater and found out I have an anterior tilted pelvis. Could this be the reason I cant rotate my back leg while in a front Split? It feels like it’s always something with my crazy ass body.

In the V split, you need to tilt your pelvis forward to make it so your femur bone doesn't hit your hip. If your naturally tips forward I would think it would help your splits, but I'm no doctor. I will say that it will probably limit your turn out.

When I first started stretching for the V splits, I had a pulling sensation my the knee. I believe it is just a particular muscle that is tighter than the others and needs to be stretched out before your can go further into the stretching. I've beens tretching my splits since February and only made a little progress. It takes a long time to become more flexible.
