Recently someone created a list of pole dancers featured in music videos.  I'd like to do the same thing with movies and TV shows.  They don't necessarily have to feature pole dancers, they can also have scenes with pole dancing in them.  I'll start:

    Movies:

Dancing at the Blue Iguana (2000)

    Showgirls (1995)

    Date Night (2010)

    Yellow (2007)

    Hard Luck (2006)

    The Wrestler (2008)

    Welcome to the Rileys (2010)

    Striptease (1996)

    Closer (2004)

    TV shows:

    Desperate Housewives (Oct. 2 2011)

I also know there were scenes in The Wire, I just can't find the air date.  I know there's a lot missing but I can't think of any more at the moment…

Just thought of one, Powder blue, I think it  starred Jessica Biel.  🙂

I am not a big help here on a movie but, it was a black 'n white movie.

The actress was dancing around her pole in her flat/apartment as she was talking to a detective that had had relations with her.  Sorry 🙁 I don't know the movie's title.

On the song video 'Jail House Rock' where Elvis Presley does a few pole moves in here and so do other dancers. One of the first male pole dancers is Elvis Presley…ha! who knew?

There is a scene in one of the House's where Cutty does a pole/strip tease for House on a bus. Another Sheila thing.

    Matchstick Men

They're waiting for a meeting at a strip club. I was quite surprised as the dancers were good and the black lady was pulling one move in particular I want to learn so badly.

My hubby and I LOVE How I Met Your Mother – They never do anything on the poles, but Lily has a doppelganger that is a strpper. They are always really funny episodes. Her doppelganger's name is always pronounced "Ja-Ja-Ja- JASMINE" when they announce to the stage. Such a funny show!

Also, on The Simpsons, Homer Simpson once pole danced.  Unfortunately, I'm not sure where to find a clip of that.

I think Seth McFarlane has a thing for strippers as they featured frequently his animated series. The ones I can recall are:

    American Dad:
    Stan Knows Best S1 E3
Black Mystery Month S2 E13 (Old Glory, the nation's first stripper pole)
    G-string Circus S5 E8

    Family Guy:
Business Guy S8 E9 (no pole, but contortionist style lap dance)

    Also,
Jessica Alba as Nancy in Sin City has some nicely executed body waves but unfortunately does no aerial tricks on the pole.

Arrested Development, S1 E20, where Lindsay starts off protesting the war in Iraq and ends up swinging on a pole instead.

What a fun thread topic! 🙂

I just found a ridiculous movie called "Somewhere." It's about a bored movie star who's trying to find something thrilling to fill his empty life. He drives around too fast in his Porsche, he drops stupid amounts of money in clubs and whatever… and every night, he orders these twin strippers to come over and do a duo pole dance for him. Their routines are so elementary and simple… it's quite hilarious. They actually pull off several decent beginner tricks, but they are not smooth really and the routines are kind of dumb.

I keep watching it over and over and fast forwarding to the pole scenes just for laughs.

Apparently the movie takes a turn for the serious about halfway through when the guy decides to adopt his 11-year-old son, but I couldn't be bothered to get that far. I'm too amused by the bad poling. Still, it's better than some of the pole in Dancing at the Blue Iguana…

this thread is hilarious!! I loved looking at the clips… who knew?! It's funny to watch all the different styles/skill levels.. I'm sure Sheila Kelly had her hand in a lot of these because of the Hollywood-LA connection.

also 2nd thought: Lindsay Lohan in interviews while making "I Know Who Killed Me" said she was taking pole classes like 4 hours a day everyday so I'm kind of surprised she didn't do more! I haven't seen the movie though so maybe there's more tricks in the film

Aw, nuts.  Someone beat me to Jessica Alba in the movie Sin City.  No aerial tricks, but if I could ever bodywave half as well as she does. . . .  Is it hot in here, or is it just me? https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

There was some "pole dancing" in one of the new Dexter series too, you know the kind you get in strip clubs!!!  Pretty lame x
