Lately I’ve been hearing about these “new” pole stars that are coming out of the woodwork. This got me thinking about all the underground talent that we might be missing out on. I’d like to compile a list of /dancers that have inspired or influenced you and your style. I think this is a great way for beginners and seasoned dancers alike to find new inspiration. What I’d like to know (and I’m sure so would many others) is: Who are some of your pole/dance heroes? Why are you drawn to his/her style?
Pole inspiration has taken many forms for me. I was inspired by a breakdancer the other day and a ballerina the day after that! Famous/not famous, poler/non-poler. I want to know!

One of my favorite choreographers, for example, is Anne Murray. I LOVE her “Drop it Low” vid!!!

Rhiannon Nichole would be my choice for my pole hero https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif I love how she excels at so many different styles of pole dance.

Dirdy Birdy for sure I have been enthralled with her for the last few years..

I've recently become entranced with Charlee Wager. She's definitely one to watch as an up and comer 🙂

Skittles is awesome!! I always love watching her videos. because she looks so strong and smooth and has some tutorials on how to do things (she's the reason I can do a shouldermount flip). I also love Emotion Catcher (Julia Wahl). She's got tons of free lessons on youtube and I refer to those when I am trying new moves.

So many great names here. Persian you reminded me of two more (Skitt & Emotion C) whose skills are so admirable and whose vids have helped me progress.

Another two I forgot are Leigh Ann Reilly. Even her vids from back in the day still keep me watching from start to finish. She has an ultra sexy style to her movement.

And Jannybugalicious. She does great floor work and I would kill for her flow. Her moves look so effortless and just blend together seamlessly. She makes everything she does look so easy

As much as I love watching all the phenomenal talent on YT, I honestly find my inspiration here. I really enjoy watching everyone here work on tricks or flow or finding their style. I love reading video and discussion comments, and seeing everyone, regardless of their background or ability, coming together to help and support and befriend one another. That said, the Veener whose videos I’ve faved most is tracee. She has a dance background, which impresses me as a woman of little to no grace 😉 But, my favorite thing about tracee is that her dancing is raw and powerful and genuine. You can see that her movement comes directly from her soul. She is an honest dancer, and there’s nothing I respect more than an honest person.
Oh. And, once, tracee commented on one of MY videos. I died!

I loooove VEENA! I got into pole because of her, I have been following her youtube channel since before SV even existed, I used to frantically check my youtube for new videos from her sinbabylk account, her gimme more video was the first full length pole video i ever saw. Secondly would be Michelle Mynx, I think she's really not known enough and has toured the country poling on stage as a doubles act with her partner with the Dresden Dolls and Margaret Cho. I have had the lucky opportunity to be coached for competitions by both these ladies and they are even more fabulous when you get to know them as people, Veena is one of my bff's now 🙂

Well, Veena's lines, flexibility and grace never cease to amaze and inspire me, Alethea is a panther on the pole, Chalese Stevens floorwork is sick and CryStylez is so creative and organic. But, I'm with Hotel Chick, Veena and the SV members really sparked it for me. Watching the pro's is nice and all but……there's something about watching the members here try and fail and try and succeed. Something about the perseverance in all of you and the encouragement we give to one another. Even though I'm not poling yet, I've learned more here in the past 4 months than you could ever imagine. This site was a genious idea. I knew I was in the right place when I joined. You ladies have prepared me for my pole journey more than you know. Thank Youhttps://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_heart1.gif

Felix Cane is one of my heroes too, that flexibility!

I also like Jenyne Butterfly, she's so playful

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=waIuhfoTMv8 ,

and just love Pantera, for her strength and just because she's her crazy self…

Actually, rather than someone with a perfect technique, I like to watch dancers with some personality 🙂

I love watching Phoenix Kazree 🙂 Beautiful dancer!!!

    Marion Crampe is also amazing!!!

Definitely Becca Butcher, Hanka Venselaar and Skittles for tricks.

Marlo is a fantastic dancer no matter what the music style is and she is a powerhouse on the pole!!!
