kind of glad im not rich cuz ive already got about £200,000 worth of surgeries planned and have been since i was at least in my early teens if not younger. Eyelids, laser eye correcting, nose job, chin implant, boob job, liposuction everywhere, bum lift and more lipo, calf implants, veeners, gastric band. Im sure as new stuff is invented so my list will grow. I wish I could be one of those ppl who feels happy and confident as they are but after almost 27 years and still hating everything if I had the chance to change everything tomorrow id jump at the chance. Maybee itll change as I get older, i dunno, but if it makes ppl happy and feel better about themselves then go for it.

if this is something you are truely looking into here are some very medical centered things to keep in mind:
CONSULT THE CRAP OUT OF YOUR SURGEON!!
HE is interveiwing for the right to work on your hot little bod, not the other way around. If he claims he’s certified byt medical board XYZ…go to thier website and you can check or find the number to call and check him. Your body is a temple…dont let the highschool janitor work on it.KNOW WHAT YOU ARE GETTING INTO!
If at any point during your multiple pre surgery visits he or she starts using some medical jargon you dont know…SPEAK UP! Smile and nod are the most dangerous things you can do in a doctors office.SET LIMITS!
Set price limits, time limits, personal boundries. I looked into a breast agmentation when I was younger and dumber but I would NOT get over the idea of a surgeon going in via armpit or navel so I ended up calling it off (which was good that I was stubborn because I was being stupid)POST SURGERY—HAVE A PLAN!
Do not expect to be up and moving around when you get home. You will be groggy, drugged up and not exactly feeling a million bucks. As much as you want your family around you when you feel yucky….recovery days are PERFECT times for the kiddos to go visit grandma. It is totally unrealistic to thing you are going to provide care for anyone other than your damn self when you feel like frankenstein.I havent’ been under the knife myself but I do many surgical and post surge rotations so if there is anything medical I can help with let me know!

I have to add to Hockey_Soldier’s post. Any surgeon worth his salt should have a portfolio of before and after pics. Once you find an accredited one make sure the look of his patients is the look you’re going for.
I personally am all for surgery. If you can afford it and you want to take the risk, why not? When i get to my goal weight and I still have my DD’s (I think according to the bra size chart my 42 DD’s will be 36 E’s by then) I’m getting a reduction. My sister had one and it’s made her verry happy. It would be so nice to be able to wear a sports bra or even a tank top without having to think structurally. (Or having a massive strapless bra.)
And also I wanted to point out that a tummy tuck may not be what you’re looking for. Panniculectomy is where they JUST remove the hanging fat and skin, they don’t touch the muscles like they do in a tummy tuck. The recovery time is much shorter and it’s a lot easier on your body. That might be something to think about.
check out this site, they have information about what questions you should ask a surgeon and how to find a qualified one. http://www.yourplasticsurgeryguide.com/
Good Luck!!

I’ve also been pretty open about my self inflicted wounds. I carry scars that make me very self-conscious. They have procedures to fix them. Some people may look down on this as well by saying "well you shouldn’t have done that to yourself in the first place". There have been many events in my life that brought me to that extreme. I was only 9 the first time I did it. I feel that chapter of my life is over and I have a constant reminder of each of the moments in my life that I was completely out of control. It can be a reminder of how far I’ve come, but each one has it’s own terrible story of pain behind it. Imagine carrying around with you an open book of your pain for everyone to see. I want to put all those memories behind me and move forward, yet every time I look down there it is. I plan to get them fixed one day as well.
I actually just had the second of my treatments for scar removal for the same thing. I have self inflicted wounds from when I was younger all over my left arm, wrist to elbow, and I had the same thoughts of "its over, I don’t want to be reminded", as well as the fact I hate everyone asking about it, or judging me – especially since its so far in the past. Luckily my dad has a good friend who is a dermatologist, so he is doing all my treatments. It basically involves a laser being run several times over the area, burning tiny holes just about a millimeter deep into the skin. As the tiny holes heal, the skin is stretched out, so over time the scars are pulled out, broken up, and start to fade. After two treatments I can already see a difference, but it will take several more before they are near gone – and I won’t lie, its a pretty painful procedure. Even with topical anesthetic you can feel some burn of the laser, and it feels like a sunburn for a day or two after. IMO its worth it though, I just really want the scars gone.

I was wondering if anybody has had breast augmentation AFTER they got into poling. I wanted to know about the differences in before and after, in terms of strength, endurance, etc. I mean, there’s the obvious "hey, suddenly there are big ole knockers in my way!", but I wanted to hear about other experiences. I had also heard from a fitness instructor that she never fully regained her strength back after getting her boobs done (she didn’t really care, though, she was very happy with her procedure). Anybody have any stories?

Ive lost alot of weight but I still have 40lbs to go. Or about 9 inches in my waist and like 4 inches around my hips and bust (back fat! Rawr!) Back when I was 120lbs and a size 5 I had nice perky c cup boobs that were perfectly proportioned to the rest of my body. Now even though I am so much heavier then back then they are C cups NOW and they were on the verge of double D at my heaviest. Once I get to my goal of inches I know I am gonna have no fat left in my boobs and loose skin on my lower tummy. If that happens (and I hope it doesnt) then I would get implants to make them proportioned to my body and get the excess skin removed. I dont want to be 20 years old and have flat boobs and look like I had a million kids. But I also dont want permanent scars from surgery, but id rather have the scars from surgery than flat boobs and hanging skin, I want to spend my youth looking good! Or at least decent!
-
oh God, the boob subject, I am only 26, have an 8 year old daughter and have lost a few pounds, I used to be 127-130 pounds and 5’4", I am now at 119 lbs, my boobs look like pancakes out of a bra, deflated and just ugh!!! I would love to get a lift or some implants, something! , I have thought about it a million times….I understand totally, the stretch marks are another issue, I just don’t feel comfortable so I totally understand where people are coming from. I’m all for excersise and good eating, but that doesn’t really work with saggy boobs and stretch marks. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif

Oh honey I can relate to you! I have had two kids and I am only 24. I REFUSE to look like an apple on a stick. In my family ALL of our weight is on the top of us arms, face, BELLY, neck. Even when I was at my fittest (which was pretty fit) I STILL had a little double chin. I always say that by the time I am 40 I will have baught the body I have always wanted. I dont want to go all out and fix my face and completely alter the way I look. If I had it my way I would get my boobs done, have my tummy done and lipo my double chin. It doesn’t matter how thin I get I will ALWAYS have my double chin. It maybe smaller then it is when I am heavy but it is still there none the less. I still look pregnant even when I suck in my stomach. It’s just because that is the way I have been streached out. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_puke_l.gif I don’t think there is anything wrong with plastic surgery as long as you dont go overboard with it. Dont alter how you look just a little "air brushing" here and there.

I am 41 and a mother of 2. I am very fit, I run, rock climb, teach yoga, and now pole dance. I am happy with my body, except the stretch marks and loose skin I have on my lower abs from having children. I am self conscious about that part of my body and try to hide it. I would like to feel comfortable showing my stomach, and have thought many times about having a tummy tuck. But, I just don’t think I could do it. For one, I’d be exchanging lots of smaller scars (stretchmarks), for a huge scar that runs from hipbone to hipbone. Also, being as active as I am, I’m afraid that after surgery I’d be limited in what I could do physically. Yoga, pole dancing and climbing are very core related activities, and I would hate to come out of surgery and never be as strong as I am now. I also can’t justify spending the money on a tummy tuck, and they are expensive! I am trying to come to terms with that part of my body and realize that it is the price I paid for having two beautiful children. I will probably be self conscious if I pole dance for people other than my husband, and worry that they are grossed out by my stretchmarks and looser skin, but it doesn’t really matter what they think. I have a strong, athletic body, but it’s not perfect, and that is O.K.
I have nothing against plastic surgery. Just make sure that you weigh all the risks before doing it, and know that there is no guarantee that you are gonna be happy with the results afterwards. good luck with your decision! And know that you aren’t alone! There are other moms out there that feel the same as you https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

benicebehappy, if you do all your pole practice and dancing etc on your tip toes (that includes walking, pointing toes for spins, landing softly etc), you will soon LOVE your calves! Then you can take at least one off your list! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

My feeling on PS is this, if your going to do it then do it for you and no one else. Make sure you really do your homework and get a reputable surgeon of course but if you want it and can do it! My stomach has never looked the same since I had my daughter (who’s 8 now) and I’m not gonna lie I’d get a tummy tuck in a heart beat if I could afford it. It makes me uncomfortable and I always feel like I’m trying to disguise it somehow….especially when I’m with my boyfriend who has 6 pack abs! Good luck and I hope whatever you decide your happy https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

Vitamin E does wonders for scar fading/removal. Just pop open a gel cap and rub it on the scar. It takes time, but they eventually fade like crazy. Even ones that are years old.

When I get a chance I might just have to make a video showing the tricks I’ve taught myself to use when taking pictures or videos.
Veena – This would be AWESOME! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif The inverted positions always seem to accentuate my loose belly skin. I’ve been pol’ing for about 5 months, and I am amazed at how my body is starting to look!
cbr600girl – I have a suggestion that sounds odd, but has worked well for me. Try to find a pole class to go to. Wear skimpy clothes and let your belly hang out! It will be really hard at first, but soon, you won’t even notice. Doing it on a regular basis just makes it seem normal to have your body exposed. Since I’m a stay at home mom, I don’t get out much other than pole class, so it DOES cause a little bit of a problem. I have no sense anymore of how to dress "normally". One day I went to the grocery store in some of my workout shorts. My hubby’s eyes got big https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_eek.gif when he got home from work — "You wore THAT??"
Also, in class, you see other women’s bodies and realize that they all have hangups about themselves. It seems that society programs us to be dissatisfied with what we have. The tall girls want to be shorter, and the short girls want to be taller… The skinny girls want curves, and the curvy girls want to be skinny… ETC. I’ve known this for a long time (in my head), but actually being around these lovely women and hearing their insecurities has driven the point home.
Bless you in what ever you decide w/ surgery — you’ll still be great which ever way you decide!!

Hi there,
I got my implants after I started poling and I did see a difference. It was definitely hard to refrain from jumping on my pole when I thought I was ready (and I didnt realize I wasn’t ready til I tried to pull myself up) And even after 8 weeks of healing I had to pretty much start over on the pole. But I did get pretty large implants so maybe that’s why (420cc) But I couldn’t even do a gemini or scorpio and even spins were different. but now 6 months later I’m doing great and now that they feel like they’re "mine" I don’t notice any difference on my pole. It just takes some getting used to. Hope this helps!Jessica

My whole entire life I’ve wanted a tummy tuck! I had the genetic "gift" of a pot belly and having babies made a bad situation worse. I now have a skin flap full of stretch marks that I have to push out of the way when I stretch. I have longed, yearned, saved for a tummy tuck until…
A year into pole dancing. That’s when I saw the Family Jewels episode where Shannon and Tracy get plastic surgery. Tracy can barely walk and looks like she’s holding her innards the whole time. It takes weeks, even months to recover from a tuck. Do I really want to take that much time off from the pole and lose my skills and strength? NO way! I’m still not thrilled with my belly, but I have smokin’ breasts and lovely legs and excellent health and I just perfected a forward hook flip-flop spin and am working on the corkscrew.
BTW, when you dance for your man, draw attention to your butt and/or any other fab body part you have. He won’t even know you have a belly! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gifJust another perspective…

Hi all.
I would like to mirror what some people have said, surgery is fine if there are elements that are affecting your life.
I had a breast reduction when I was 21 and it improved my quality of life pretty much instantly. Some people it doesn’t bother but it did me, my boobs were big and round but also long that they touched my belly out of a bra. Before the op I wouldn’t go out much as they were huge and protruding, if I went out to a club or bar and was chatting to blokes they chatted to my boobs and in some cases men think its ok to groap you because they are there and to be honest I wasn’t (and still not) that type of girl. I did lose weight over 30lb to prove that no matter what I weighed the boob size was the same. I went from an F to a D cup and now my body looks in better proportion. My posture improved and clothes fitted better. However I must add that now post op when I lose or gain weight so do my boobs.
My weight is up and down and at the moment I must weigh 17stone + (240lb ish) but would never have an op to help me lose the weight or fix aspects that have resulting in me having all this weight as I feel ok about that and know that I will lose the weight as I have done many times before with exercise and a better diet. I’m just wanting a mental fix that helps me keep the weight off.
Just make sure that you are happy with the surgeon, after care and know about possible side affects etc

I had really sever fibroids for years since I got my period and eventually after multiple other surgeries had to have an abdominal hysterectomy. This is after already having a myomectomy with the same incision 5 years earlier. Because of all of years of the fibroids my stomach was EXTREMELY full and after the surgery would be stretched out. I had worked out for years but there was nothing that could be done really until they were removed.
I consulted with my female gyno/surgeon who at the time was pregnant and said "I am afraid I will be REALLY stretched out after all these years of fibroids…maybe I should have a tummy tuck at the same time?" she was against it. She took the stance of well you might be a little stretched out after but it won’t be that bad. HELLO!!! She was pregnant so at the end of her journey while she might be stretched out some she would have her baby…me I would have just had years of pain and then a saggy stomach. We argued and she set me up with a plastic surgeon – MALE- I requested a Male that she trusted and worked with – HE WAS LIKE "she is coming from a different space and she is wrong. You are young, and having a hysterectomy – you will be stretched out and you will be pissed off several months later and end up wanting the surgery. If you decide to have it after the fact you are going under anesthesia and more pain and healing for a second time for no reason. We can do both surgeries at once and while it WILL add additional recovery time on – you would already be going through weeks of recovery. If your muscles are separated when we are inside we will sew them back up…" Sounded great.
I ended up having the hysterectomy, a tummy tuck and lipo all at the same time. This is only really a viable choice for someone who is younger and in good physical shape – but it is totally doable. They used the same bikini cut incision as my previous myomectomy so the scar was nothing new to me. It was not the normal length of a full tummy tuck but a little shorter.
The beauty of doing it all at once was:
A) One recovery period
B)Insurance paid for most of it https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif I just had to pay the PS fee which at 8K was super high but he is one of the best in the country
C) I only had to go under onceI woke up beat up and slightly swollen but could INSTANTLY tell the difference. IT WAS A GOD SEND – the before and after pictures are soooo great to have – such a huge difference. I was actually annoyed I hadn’t done it years ago. I instantly went down 3 dress sizes and while I was extremely happy I was also mad that I had delt with all of this extra weight and pain for years. My PS did the surgery with my surgeon. He made the initial cut so it worked for him – then she did the surgery and then he did the tuck, little fixes and lipo.
I can’t say enough about how much I was pleased with the tummy tuck…now here’s the thing – it wasn’t perfect. I actually ended up going back in for some touch up lipo from him. Please note that most plastic surgeries are not perfect or even a one time deal – sometimes there is a little touch up work to be done. I knew this going in but even without the touch up work I was ecstatic https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif The funny part of all of this was after the whole thing was over my surgeon/gyno she said "hmmm I was wrong you needed this you look much better" lol. I would say it took me about 6 full months to be back to the physical level of say poling or doing pilates and forgetting that I had had a surgery. I would say I was doing uber light stuff…at around 2 months.
Make sure you have a great surgeon. Make sure you know the reality of what plastic surgery can and cannot do for you and most importantly know why you want it – otherwise I say GO FOR IT. It can be life changing – it was for me https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

I want both done also. I have been considering plastic surgery for many years now. I have 3 children. The oldest is 10 years old and the youngest is three days old. I had been waiting to be done having all of my children. Now I have so I will see what happens. I want to get into the best possible shape that I can and see what I have to work with. My main problem with my tummy is that I have a huge amount to stretch marks. I am also going to check into laser surgery as an option because it is much less invasive. I have had 3 c sections now so at least I think I have a good idea about what I would be getting myself into. I plan to wait at least a year from now if I do decide that I still want to have these things done. I would probably get my breasts done first I think but that might change. It would be great to have boobs that aren’t flat like pancakes after breast feeding 3 kids! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

You are right about that.. there are many scary things to consider about having surgery. I have known lots of girls that have had work done and I have seen it go horribly wrong a couple of times. I saw a girl with nearly perfect breasts have them done and a week later one of them ruptured leaving her with a deformity she would have not otherwise had. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif I have also seen another girl that had a seeping infection afterward that the doctor refused to acknowledge. Lucky for her she was close with someone that had a lot of money and power that made it known that it had better be fixed by another doctor on their staff.
Also, surgery won’t necessary give you want to want. Another woman on that show had her breasts done and they didn’t turn out the way she wanted them to. After she healed they didn’t end up being where they were supposed to. She was very upset, and honestly she looked better beforehand. Also people that have the extra skin removed from wherever never turn out looking right. The skin is tighter and such, but the whole shape of that body part is all wrong.

BA’s are overwhelmingly safe and successful, with tummy tucks and lipo though it seems there is more potential for disaster…..poor poor Tara Reid https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif
Hi everyone. I’ve been lurking out here in internet land while saving up for my pole:)
I saw this topic in the daily updates mail and had to reply to the above statement. I just don’t want people thinking that a BA is "overwhelmingly safe and successful" in any way shape or form. That is what the surgeons want you to think of course, they make a living off of us. Let me say first that I am not in any way against someone getting plastic surgery to improve their self image, or reverse what age or children have caused. I’ve had saline implants for over 13 years now. There isn’t anyone in the world that could have talked me out of it at the time. I can’t even say that I regret it. If I never had them I would always think that was the "ONE THING" that was missing. They’ve been fun, I’ve enjoyed the attention, but now I want them out. All I ask is that you think really really long and hard about this. You are putting a foreign object into your body. Even saline implants have a silicone shell, and if your body doesn’t like having a silicone water balloon in it, you can still get very sick! It is a man made object, being inserted into your body. In 10-15 years you WILL be making the decision to remove or replace them. They are not a one time surgery.Something else to think about..I envy all you smaller and beautifully natural breasted women who can:
Sleep on your stomach!
Lay on a massage table or go to a chiropractor !(much needed after some of those pole moves haha)
Do jumping jacks!
Do tight spins standing close to the pole (I would smack my boobs into the pole unless I step away a bit, and mine aren’t huge, 38D)13 years ago it cost me about $4,000 to get them put in, now I’m saving the $10,000 it will cost for a removal and lift. Do your research. Ask yourself…are yours really that bad? Look at these before and after stories..I’ve looked at every single before/after story on this site while researching explant surgeons. Warning: the photos are graphic but real people and their stories of implant removal. Not all silicone horror stories, a lot are saline too. Stepping off my soapbox now https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_basketball.gif <-what I may do with my implants when they are out lol.
