Alright folks. I’m doing it. I’m sure you’ve heard of it. Yes?

    The P90x workout system. http://www.beachbody.com/product/fitness_programs/p90x.do?code=P90XDOTCOM" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I don’t usually jump on the new trend when it comes to workouts. I’ve been weight training consistently (for the most part) for well over a year. I study a lot and have a good understanding of fitness and what it takes to achieve what I want (even though I don’t always stick to it) so I usually just do my own thing…but I must admit this program sparked my interest…enough for me to visit the website and read up on it.

Then a friend of mine got it on ebay and she made me a copy of her set (I know, she bootlegged it https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_batman.gif I was kidding and asked her to copy it for me then she showed up at work with a whole set burned for me…so I couldn’t say no https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif Right?) So it’s here, in my lap. It’s free. It seems interesting. I’m gonna try it. Why not?

It’s a 90 day nutrition, supplment and workout plan that incorporates weight lifting, yoga, and other stuff like Kenpo. The key to this program (They say) is the muscle confusion. Just when your muscles get used to one thing they switch it up and shock your body. Sounds interesting….

Me and the hubby are going to do it together, which I think is cool. He has been meaning to get back to working out (and get those big ass arms he had when I met him…mmm) and I want to get stronger for pole so we’ll see!

I plan to keep a running blog about my journey. I’ll even post my before and after and after pics here https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_tongue.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_mrgreen.gif

Ooh, good for you! I’d love to read your blog for it.

I tried but quickly discovered you need to be at a certain level of fitness to even start it… and I wasn’t there yet. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif I found the strength based ones impossible. The guy who "presents" it is awesome though – just as cheesy as Mr Motivator but eminently watchable!

OH I SOOOO want to try this program!Every time I see it on the TV I wanna pick up the phone and get it but its so expesive I would be PISSED if it was BS and I spent 120 bucks on it…..so you can be my guinea. I am pretty head strong and once I set my mind to something there is no quitting so you let me know if it is worth it! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_bounce.gif

Yay for you! My husband just ordered his copy this past weekend – I haven’t decided if I’ll do the whole kitten caboodle yet, but I will probably do the diet portion with him. A guy that I worked with did it and had great success – it’s a big commitment but the results are incredible!

I bought the P90X program when it come out a few years back. I think it’s great set. I like the "Core Synergistics," "Plyometrics" "Yoga-X" and "Legs & Back" workouts the best. I find them to be quite challenging.

I cant wait to see and hear about your progress. I recently got it for my son and of course he hasnt started yet but I stay on him. I thought about trying myself. My problem is lack of motivation I really hate working out along but I am excited for you. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_razz.gif

If you can get it started and stick with it, it’s amazing. That situp routine is killer, but makes inverting a breeze. Just be careful doing too much poling after some of those strength training ones. So sore it’s ridiculous. If you need any motivation or anything, let me know. I’ve done it twice already and will probably go through a 3rd set soon (I’m a glutton for punishment). Have fun!

The P90X workouts are tough. I use them in a rotation because I do more Yoga and Dance Drills for my body conditioning. I tend to use the "Core Synergistics" the most though. The CDT-Ballet company where I live is starting back with Adult Ballet classes which I love for conditioning. My legs get a killer workout after all those plies and little jumps around the mat. SissyBuns, I can’t wait to see how your journey progresses. Good luck to both of you and keep the Advil handy.

AHHHHHH p90X…its how I lost all the baby weight with my second child. Im a HUGE fan of P90, its really hard, my hubby used to laugh at me doing a home video everyday but then I go here…u try…he was sore after just ONE SET durning chest and back and hes a flippin’ marine and police officer with an amazing bod!!!! so there! haha

the hard thing to to stick with it for the 90 days, 3 months is a long time, and its hard to work out 6 days a week, but i had a newborn adn a 1.5 year old and i found a way to do it. If you stick to it you’ll do great! Just be aware I did it with a friend and we didnt loose tons of weight right away, i DEFF got more toned my endurance and strenght were throught the ROOF but i wasnt sheading a ton of Lbs on the scale, and I also wasnt loosing tons of inches either but it did come off, just stick with it especially during ur platues. My key was to add in more cardio then they do in the program and it started making EVERYTHING happen, and fast!

    BEST WISHES!!!!

I saw a craigslist ad for p90x- for 65 bucks, unused.
I talked them down to 40.

    So.. Uhh.
    Yeah.

AbRipperX is not saying that by doing this, you’ll have ripped abs. It’s saying, do this video and you’ll feel like someone ripped you in half.

    P.S.

Sissybuns – my hubby keeps postponing the date that he will go "full throttle" into the P90X, which means he’s trying to get out of the diet. I am excited to see your results – it’s a big commitment. Good for you for giving it a shot!

Thanks Trophy (I love your name by the way). I’m not trying to lose much weight actually because I’ve gotten to my goal already after kiddo number 3. But I want to be stronger and leaner. Some inches lost wouldn’t hurt either. I posted pictures in my blog (my before shots https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif ) so you can see the "untonedness" (yes I just made that word up, go with it) that I’m trying to work on. I’m doing it with a co-worker. My hubby has already flaked through 2 workouts so I don’t know if he’s a keeper as far as a battle buddy is concerned. I might be able to get him up on the pull up bar but he’s got this "natural six pack and ability to do a zillion push ups without working out" thing going on so….he doesn’t really see the point LOL. But her and I have been swapping pain stories and what not and comparing workouts so it’s good to have someone to go through it with.

Today was day 3. Shoulders, Arms and Abs. I must say that ab workout kicked my ass!!!!! Good stuff. I did it in front of the mirror so that whenever I got tired I could glance over at the jelly roll and tell myself (Keep going! That’s the only way you’ll get rid of it!).

Afterward I hopped on the pole for a bit (before the soreness kicked in) and fooled around with my Iguana Mount and stupid stupid Gemini. I need P90x for my knee pits….do they have that? https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_scratch.gif

Yeah, it’s pretty hard core. I have been lifting weights for over a year so that’s why I thought it might be a good workout for me. It’s really intense and challenging which is good because workouts that don’t make me beg for mercy lose my interest quicker… https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

Honestly for me, the diet is the hardest part. I am still struggling with that. I eat pretty good anyway (for the most part https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif ) but I do have my weaknesses and hungry moments where I’ll eat whatever is near by….I’m trying to work on that https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif
