ORION trick
Posted by rita ch on October 6, 2012 at 3:08 amHi everyone!
I'd like to share a photo of a trick that I saw a few days ago. Shared it on FB already.
It's Orion by Olga Mikityuk (Kiev, Ukraine). Hope those, who have not seen it yet, will enjoy! It seems its lines really remind the constellation of Orion. Love it!Here it is:

And another variation was posted by Anastasia Skukhtorova on her FB page. So pretty, too!

They are very beautiful. I saw Anastacias FB-post and the first variation you posted is stunning too. Always nice to see something new.

This reminds me of a pic that Marlo had posted a few months back:

Easy, 3 steps.
Step 1: remove genes from body.
Step 2: replace genes with Anastasia skukhtarova’s genes
Step 3: execute move perfectly. -
you could probably also get into it from the jade
-
Haha poledancerromance! True Dat!
It looks like you could get into it from upright splits on the pole or perhaps a layback???
-
Looks like pole split with top leg slightly bent. Love it!
-
Hmmm…I'm thinking pole split, then pull both legs in towards your body as you lean your torso away as far as your arms will let you. For Anastasia's version you'd also have to take the bottom foot off the pole – the weight of your torso leaning away should pull it out. Both gorgeous! I'm going to have to try this soon. Thanks for posting it!

Call me naive or crazy, or both… But couldn’t this be as “simple” as starting from a wrist-seat? Then 1 leg goes up, 1 goes down, & fold ur spine backwards like it’s made of rubber. 🙂
Easy!!! LOL -
I think the problem with starting from a wrist seat is that both of your legs are above a hand, meaning you would need to take that hand off the pole and place it above you as you brought one leg down. But because of the way that hand is basically doing all the work of holding you up you would most likely fall totally away from the pole.
-
But I suppose you could do opposite side leg coming down and then you wouldn't have to take that hand off to adjust the legs. You'd have to readjust it higher at some point though….
-
i just tried this from a wrist sit and was almost there when my bottom leg started to cramp up
-
The owner of my studio just posted herself doing this and included a note and tag to Anastasia that she did it from a cross ankle release. Anastasia replied back that she gets into it from a Marlo split. I’d like to try it from a wrist seat but will try all three methods.

-
If someone gets this, post a video! I’d like to see some mechanics.
-
Hi,girls! Thanks for all those commetns!:))
I`ll try to take some video next week! -
Here is a video for the front splits, the hands are close to her ankles though as opposed to being more towards your crotch.
-
I can get into this. I did it last night. I know all of you can too!!!! My back leg is not straight at all yet though. I did it from a pole sit. You could do CKR or CAR too, I guess. I am sure there are many ways into this. That video Chem posted shows a nice smooth way into it also. It is just variations of a pole split.

-
My split is kinda flat but not and I can. My back leg has a ways to go before I am FLAT. It just doesn't look the same but I can do it.
-
I am talking about the 3rd pic by the way. I have not tried the top variations. My back is straight and stiff as a board so it would never look just like that, but you have to make your own variations.
