Day 28 thankful that I don’t eat like I did yesterday everyday… Ha! hope everyone’s turkey day was great!!
AK , AZ the commitment I’ve found in this challenge has been so healthy I’ll say hell yes to next months BePresent. I’m actually reading Eckhart Tolle’s the power of now . Now. Add a yoga hammock to reading a book that brings about our infinite knowledge of love. Ahhh paradise! But I will say I’m missing my pole something fierce, she comforts me in such a unique way;) thanks for the inspiration ladies.
AZ I saw you were talking classes , have you checked out gaiam tv? I know having a personal instructor is very individualized and helpful, but for me I have a hard time getting to class because it’s at night. So this has been my first time incorporating yoga daily and having it available like SV has been so convenient and the site is full of health/ mind body awesomeness!

Day 30 today I am thankful that I have felt the Joy of yoga for 30 days. Quite interesting!
I cried in a few sessions .. And I smiled in most of them. Even the short 9 min quickies;) slowing down and intentionally moving but in alignment with my breath …. That’s what i found. Meditative state where thought dissolves And space is created. Thank you ladies for allowing me to join this journey.
… Anybody seen “Yoga is… A transformational journey” highly recommend! Thanks Veena for creating such warm place to connect. Can’t wait to start poling again ! I feel like I’m cheating on my true love by spending all this time doing yoga 😉 … But it was what my path led me to and for that I thank what started my true journey. POLE

I agree Shoog. My shots in Disney were fun, but honestly when I got back home and I could sit relax and breathe it was so wonderful.

When do you think you’ll be poling again, Shoog? Is there something specific that will indicate you’re ready to return?

I want to pole more but it gets harder and harder in the winter. :/

AK when my hips stops hurting all together, I’m just now starting to do strength training on it, before I couldn’t commit because it was BORING!! Haha. Look where ignoring the boring stuff got me. So my husband cleaned out the garage and got a weight bench area set up. So I’ve been lifting a little … Never thought I’d say that! And hooping more. Really I’m healing in every aspect the physical were just the loudest because I was so hard on my hips especially and I could feel the pain in my feet and some pain starting in my shoulders. Also… And this was a hard one , i wanted to proove to myself that that fire that I had seen cultivated through the energy that pole dance helped me create was inside of me always and not based on having something to turn to. IDK if that sounds crazy but I love the fact that pole helped me create a self love that is everlasting as long as my perception is clear and intention is pure 💛 I feel a ton more grounded and the only area that I’m still experiencing pain In is my hip. As soon as I feel balanced and strong I will be getting a 45mm lil mynx. Whoa novel time;)

That makes a lot of sense.

I think its so smart of you to take time to heal. I also really get what you’re saying about not relying on something for your energy/self love. You are very wise.

I have a lot of growth to do in general. Sometimes I find it overwhelming or unattainable. It’s really inspiring to see people so dedicated to becoming their best selves.

Oh you’re very kind! Im glad to share my journey with like minded and not 😉 sometimes getting real is painful but there is sure to be growth. I can relate to what you’re saying 😉 but at times I’m able to remind myself it’s something I’m ever going fully have at say an end point but Constantly evolving and being present and the situations will arise for us to blossom 💌Thanks for your support Allyson!

On the boring non metaphysical self healing tip…..but actually, also on that tip! cuz its what led me to yoga….Anyways! For hip hurting: pilates. Seriously. pilates all day long. it is a game changer. I broke my pelvis when I was 16 (17?) and had residual nerve pain for a long time. I told my doctor that and he handed my a huge bottle of 800 mg ibuprofen and a huge bottle of neurontin and was like “well, take these…forever.” (seriously huge bottles, ive not seen bottles of that size before or since…its like they were playing a practical joke..). Anyhoo! I was not into all that mess, especially cuz it was peak hippie high school time! I started learning Pilates from a book (The Pilates Body, i still use it….12 years later). I tried to do yoga but it was way to boring for teenage me. It wasnt until I understood small adjustments in the bodymind that yoga got interesting…Pilates introduced that awareness/control (fun trivia fact, pilates is also called contrology!).

If not from a book, classes are good too. I just personally learn best from books. It really takes learning to engage small muscles in a weird and different way. Its like I tell my clients, if you’re getting smaller movements, it likely means you’re doing it right. Those muscles are usually weak and if you’re using these weak muscles they wont be able to do a lot right away, but if you’re body is using OTHER muscles to compensate (stupid body….so smart…), you may get bigger movement but its not necessarily healthful/optimal. But yeah, Pilates…. Even now if I dont do it often I am in such pain after a week or two (its a really great motivator to stay in shape….). And I still engage muscles incorrectly all the time. Being in bed for MONTHS while my hip healed, then doing everyday life things too quickly cuz i was a teenager and clearly invincible and above everything…not the best plan. My body got ALL kinds of creative in making movements, and still is. But the more often I practice mindfulness/conscious movement the more efficient my daily life movement is. The struggle is real.

Sorry, I also wrote a novel…TLDR: pilates. its good for hip pain.

Also, the Alexander Method….Just been reading about this and its super intriguing. Give it a google if you’re exploring the internet sometime

Lucca thank you … I’ve been seeing all the different categories on Gaiam but have just been with yoga. Pilates … I’ll try it this am:) and yes my body is way overcompensating that’s what this break is about. Learning my limits and then nurturing that space. maybe this month I’ll do a month of Pilates along with my daily yoga;) thanks again Lucca !
