I’ve had my x-pole pole in chrome for 9 months now and it’s still slippery! My other chrome x-pole which I got 5 years ago wasn’t as bad as this! Are they made differently? Anyone else got this problem? Thank you

It’s interesting you feel that way!! I feel the same way about the new (chrome) xpoles. My old chromes from 5-6 yrs ago are fine. In fact I didn’t mind using chrome back then. The new xpoles however, I can’t get it to not feel slick!

Oh no, what do you think we could do to make it more grippy? My older one was not as bad as this!

I’ve had my x-pole chrome for 5 months and I slip ‘n slide. I tried steaming it, but only had grip for 10 minutes. I’m really glad you brought this up!

I’ve steamed mine a few times too, still not solved the problem.

With any luck, the XPole rep that monitors these boards will chime in and help you (and Veena) out. Crossing my fingers for you and anyone else in this position.

Mine is mega slippery too. The old school x pole I had was not that slick. It’s so weird. Chrome has become my least favorite.

when did this start? I’ve been on 4 x poles 1.5 years old or less and never had an issue. My pole is 1.5 years old.

I’ve never noticed this. I have always used xpoles and even have them in my studio in chrome. I also don’t have to use grip aids ever- my hands are naturally grippy. I’m interested in seeing what the xpole rep has to say. Maybe there was a change in the process during manufacturing?

You guys should each send Xpole a message to let them know.

I’ve had my xpole TG since March 2013 and it is also slippery. IT feels like it sweats. Some days are better then others but it is generally to slippy for my liking. I’ll wipe it down and myself and 15 seconds later it’s like it has condensation but not like a glass of ice water if you know what I mean. I don’t think it’s the humidity in the room but probably has something to do with it. It’s hard to put together a routine or dance through a whole song when u have to wipe it down constantly.

Well damn…..I am finally putting up my chrome xpole next week. I will say that if the thing is slick, I will take sand paper to it like I did my Other chrome……… That helped a ton!

I bought my x-pole used but it is one of the newer top loading ones and I can barely do anything on it. It is truly so frustrating. I found tonight that using shaving gel helped alot but the product that works is different every time….just shaking my head. I’m thinking about selling it but only to someone in warmer climate because it works so much better in the summer, not that its great then either. I’ll buy something smaller and grippier, I think.

X-Pole is continually improving its product mechanics however processes such as Chroming have not change for several years.

The only process that affects the surface that has changed is the polishing which was improved at the end of last year when we introduced a new purpose built machine but this has improved the grip and we have had many comments on how much more grip the latest Chrome poles have.

Any pole that is ‘sweating’ there are others factors involved which are not pole surface related – Aircon, temperature, humidity etc.

Getting the pole clean is a key. Steam mainly gets surface dirt off. One suggestion is to try cleaning your pole with X-Pole’s new Cleaner, X-Clean, which has been specially formulated to remove all grime and oils and this really gets rid of any surface dirt/oils/grips and ensures an ultra-clean finish.

During testing in the UK we also found that it improved overall grip as well. X-Clean is currently only available in the USA (Europe within the next few months) so those in the USA please contact the US office.

Blond Bird please contact the UK office 0208 449 4400 and ask for the Tech team (Paul or Jon) who will assist. Or email on support@verticallesiure.com. Please advise where is the UK you are

PS Palace – if you have just bought a Top Loading Pole (i.e. Top Loading = the expanding screw adjuster is close to the ceiling) it is a fake!!! X-Pole have not produced top loading poles for 4 years!! Sorry to be the bearers of bad news.

Shoot! Just bought an x pert x pole from amazon. My first. Only been poling for three months and thought I could get better with a home pole. Everyone said not to go cheap and recommended x poles. It hasn’t even arrived and I am so discouraged. I am not very good. Can’t even climb. The last thing I needed is a problem pole.

MD, I just want to clarify, Xpoles are great poles, no one was saying they are bad poles. Some of us who had the old original chrome xpoles, have noticed the grip is not as it use to be. It’s not a horrible issue, just interesting. A dancer can learn to work with ANY pole, by doing a proper warm up, cleaning the pole, and using a grip aid if all else fails. I highly recommend the xpole Brass pole, it’s been great. You may find that you love the chrome finish!

I got mine last Christmas and I have exactly the same problem! I don’t trust it enough to invert (despite being able to just fine on both sides at my studio) I thought if I ‘broke it in’ by using it it would help but it hasn’t got any better. Wondering if I should see if I can sell it and get a brass one instead that has more grip because there is no point in a pole I’m too nervous to practice anything other than the easier spins on.
    Any tips?

Yes…sand it down with a little fine sand paper! That is what I will b doing with mine next week if I don’t like it…..

I spent the day pondering this decision. The pole was supposed to come last Wednesday and since it did not show up today (Saturday)I am taking that as a sign. I am returning the pole when it finally shows up. I think I am just going to continue to take classes and save up for a better finish. Kind of disappointed but better safe than sorry.

X-Pole sell multiple poles globally. Like any product manufacturer, even the greatest like Apple, Microsoft, Dell, Nissan, Boeing, Chrysler odd products from a production run can have a problem however, that does not mean that they all do and it is not a reason not to buy a product! If it was Apple iPhones would not be so dominant!

At the IPC world competition in Singapore in November some of the world’s top dancers, unsolicited, complimented X-Pole on how great the grip was on the Chrome poles they used. And grip to these elite dancers is everything. The poles used were from our latest production September last year and were polished with the new machine.

X-Pole stand by its products and will assist if there are problems.

If your pole has not arrived (to clarify we do not do Saturday deliveries unless specially requested) that is because the UK has been hit by severe storms and our latest deliveries were delayed due the ship not being allowed to enter the harbor. The delivery that should have arrived last week 6th will now not be in our warehouse till next week, Wednesday15th/Thursday16th at the earliest. We can only apologize for the delay but this is beyond our control. It is not an omen about our product!

There is no point in receiving a pole and then returning it, that just costs everyone money and wastes time and the pole could be damaged on return transit. Should you wish to cancel your order then please call our office on Monday, quote your real name and order number and we will immediately cancel your order and refund your money. Let us clarify though that it can take 2~3 days to receive the money via some credit card companies (again out of our control).

As requested please call us on Monday on 0208 449 4400 (ask for Paul or Jon) to discuss your concerns – X-Pole is here to help, we are trying to grow the pole industry as we have done from day one 10 years ago and discussing concerns and problems and resolving them is akey part of our business.
