This website was created in conjunction with the Grande Dames Facebook group formed as a support group for women over 45 who are passionate about Pole Dance/Fitness and the Aerial Arts.  I started pole dancing at the age of 50 and soon realized that building strength was going to take a lot longer at my age.  It became a passion of mine to create awareness in the pole community that there are a lot of amazing women over 45, all around the world, who are passionate about Pole Dance.  Some of us pole dance just because we love it.  But their are others who would love to showcase their talent, or compete in their own division – an “over 45′s” division.  A lot of sports competitions have a “Masters/Senior” division.  Why not Pole Competition?  Lets face it — no matter how strong and/or flexible we are, or can become, we can not compete with all the fabulous 20, 30 and even some of the early 40 year olds out there.  Our bodies start to change after a certain age.  It is harder for us gain strength and flexibility.  An over 45′s division with a different set of criteria would give us that chance.  However, whatever our individual passion is…..our numbers are growing.

Nice website! Those pics in Gallery are cute! I support all forms of working out. We were born to be beautiful. No matter how old we are, if we keep exercising, our beauty & strength will stay with us.

I too am in this age group.  I am 45 but feel about 65, ugh!!!!!!  Anyways, the clock isn't stopping, we are all getting older.  Some of just have a harder time accepting it.  Thank goodness I am not a grandmother yet!  The day that happens I will definitely feel old.  Lets hope that never happens.

I am excited Lyme Lyte!  My journey to where I am today has been exciting, painful, joyful, teary…all the things that I need, want and lost has molded me into the woman I am now.  I'm not afraid to fail, I'm happy to learn and set new goals…find a new way to do things that works for me, say no to things that I really don't want to do to make time for the things I do want to do, I also laugh at myself more often. Moreover, I very rarely blush  out of embarassment any longer…I am who I am.  I start everyday trying to do better then I did yesterday, be it forgiving others…trying again, being more loving, losing the anger, letting the past go…accepting my jelly belly…not being a hater…being open to YES…being okay with NO…opening my heart to others.  It's not always easy, but it is a path to self discovery…and a new day means I get to try to do things better then I did yesterday. As long as my heart is healthy my lungs can take in a breath it means I have possibilities.

I'm sure on the inside you are a stronger, wiser more confident women now then you were 20 years ago and that is way cool. :o)
