I highly doubt anyone will. Xpole and platinum stages are just such a great product.

Thanks. It just seems like there is a lot going on with the xjoints and the LM is basically one piece. I also am afraid my ceilings may crack from the pressure(I know finding a joist is key though). Ugh…torn…

Don’t use the pad on carpet. I didn’t even need it on hardwood floors.

I've read that a lot of people really like their Lil Mynx. I've used a powder coated pole (not sure of the brand) before I LOVED it, and Lil Mynx is the only brand to offer that. I think more dancers don't suggest Lil Mynx because you do drill into the ceiling, but just the ceiling, not the floor. It's really not a big deal, I had a permanent pole and covering the holes was not a prob.

All poles can have issues though, it happens. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

They are nice to look at, but a total risk if your trying to ANYTHING other than walking around it looking cute. If your wanting to do tge fitness aspect please consider a pole that’s made for it. Unless your just trying to see if you like pole dance???

I've thrown spins and inverts pretty hard on lil mynx plenty of times. Even choreographed and rehearsed a doubles routine on one. If using on carpet, you definitely don't need that pad. I felt very stable in that situation. I don't prefer lil minx, but that's because of how the top mounts, and that it isn't stainless steel, which is my metal of choice for pole. Bottom line, I don't think they are joke poles. But it's also not my first choice.

O yeah, forgot to mention, I own a PS one piece pole and used to own two different PS multi-piece models, and 2 multi-piece Xperts. In my opinion, if a one-piece pole will fit into your life (you are more or less permanently settled and will not be taking it anywhere ie friend's house) it's the best way to go. I have never used the Xpole sport pole however.

No no, I’m definitely talking about lm. I’ve seen more than a handful ripped down. I DO like that they come in different colors. Maybe I’m a little jaded cause I love ny xpole lol. Where in WA are you from??

Well technically, I live in Silverdale. But I am almost never there. Hoping that changes in the near future. 🙂

Oops sorry to add more, but I put some misinformation in one of my posts… LM poles are stainless steel. I think I was thinking too hard about the powder-coated option. My bad!

I’ve had a LM Stainless 50mm, and couldn’t do a thing on it, got an Xpole chrome 45mm, same thing. Now I have a LM red powder coated, and love it! I feel invincible on that thing! Lol! Everyone is different, so what works for some doesn’t necessarily work for others. I have super dry skin so the extra grippiness of the powder coated pole really works for me.

I had my LM for 3+ years and never once had it come down on me.  I am 5'8" and at heaviest 165 lbs.  I had it on concrete, over a piece of panelling and also on carpet and never once had it slide.

The OLD instructions had you tightening the pole more once it was up and in place and if you continued turning the pole past tight it would eat into the drywall of your ceiling.  In time the drywall would give out where it was scored and cause a gap thus causing an unstable pole.  If you check your pole, and I mean ANY pole, on a regular basis you should be fine.

I had thrown all sorts of power moves on my LM and if people are looking for a safe, inexpensive first pole this is who I recommend.

lilmynx is a great pole! Especially for the price. I have had both. I actially like the LM better than the x pole because it is a 1 piece. No messing with joints. It is easier to put up and take down. It requires one screw into the ceiling though.

I personally like stainless…I actually did a write up on it on our flexine blog. I'll be posting it here a little later today.

btw, I have never had the pad sklide on me. If you have the pole tightened enough it should NOT slide.

btw, I should note that I have now had an x pole and PS 1 piece slip on me. I have not had a LM slip.

@gail, I am not sure. I am the least familiar with LM as I have never owned one, just used them at a studio and a friend’s house. I have had one come down during a performance (no biggie, I landed on my feet from a spin) and it was put up incorrectly, one hundred percent. Not stable and not tight enough. Xpole has also come down on me but again, not properly checked, etc. of my personal poles, none have ever come down. I think no matter the pole a majority of the time, coming down is a user error. Not always. But a lot of the time.
