anybody here who can do this move and would like to share tips of holding this trick, getting a good grip. Also, I have seen so many variations on this move I’m not sure what it is supposed to look like. Are you supposed to turn the hips out facing away from the pole like an allegra or do your hips face up like a jade or leg hook? please share pics if you have any. Thanks!

Back when I first did this back in 2010 there was no name (not that I knew of anyway) the first time I showed it to anyone was at the Detroit showcase, and everyone wanted to know what that move was! lol I had no idea people would see it as something new, I’m not saying I came up with it, but I had never seen a jade transition into allegra before! Is this the move you’re talking about? 3:18ish OMG the poles were so slippery for me I thought I would die BTW. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=38UJvxdB8Hg

I start by holding my jade then reach gripping over the leg allowing the hips to open even more and lower down if you like. I also open my hips in jade as well, I’ve never done a squared split jade.

Here’s a pic too, I’m holding the top leg in this one but you don’t need to.

Awesome! Thank you veena! That looks beautiful. I think I probably need to open my hips even more on my jade. I don’t exactly square them , but there is a big difference between my hips in jade and Allegra. So is definitely possible for me to open more. Thank you for sharing this!
