Hiya – I'm in need of some advice… A fellow poler bought an Xpert (bottom loading) on ebay and has had endless problems getting it to spin. I set it up today with my pole instructor after my lesson. Got it up fine, struggled to get the cover at the bottom on as the two small screws are not flush with the pole, so lots of scrapping going on! Put it on spin, and it just doesn't – not even a bit. It is totally solid, as if it isn't a spinning pole at all. We're not sure if it's a fault with the pole, took it all down and then put it on spin and its perfect, really smooth spin. Has anyone heard of this happening before, or knows what the problem is. The woman who owns it is so fed up with it she's thinking of buying an x-Stage. She had said that she could only get it to spin when the pole wasn't tight to the ceiling, ie. so loose that the pole moves around!

Has anyone heard of this happening? Is it a faulty pole?

First off, the pole is damaged if if the screws under the cover were not flush.  Someone did not read the directions on how to install and tighten the pole correctly.  Second, the screws to loosen to get it in to spin mode are not under the cover.

Are you sure that it an a real XPole?  How much did she pay for it off ebay?

Thanks for the quick reply chemgoddess1, I've never posted before but knew I would get some great advice from fellow Veena's 🙂

I've got the same pole at home so as soon as I saw the screws under the cover were not flush I knew it wasn't right. I'm wondering if it's been tampered with or not installed properly. Sorry – my explanation wasn't very clear – because I've got one at home I know how to put it up. It all felt a bit rough to put together and the cover at the bottom was so difficult to screw on. It's in the Xpole bags and it looks exactly like mine – I bought mine from Xpole.

I wonder if it was damaged by the previous owner – I think she paid £160, not sure whether it was a private individual or business that she bought it from.

The small screws under the cover that you mustn't touch are slightly raised so when you put the cover on it scrapes really badly.

Do you think it would be worth trying to get a replacement loading part? My instructor is considering buying it, but not if it's unusable.

There is a thread on here on how to recognize a real xpole.  The easiest is to look at the dome part; there should be a sticker with a serial number.  If there is not one most likely it is not real.

Next, do both bearings spin freely when the pole is down?  There is a bearing on the bottom of A pole and there is another bearing I believe in the dome.  If either of those is seized it will not spin properly.

I cannot remember off the top of my head but those screws I think are to keep the threaded piece attached to the A Pole.  If the previous owner loosened them they may also need to be properly lined up.

A Call to XPole support is probably in order.

Thanks so much for the advice – I'll check it out. The bottom of the A pole spins fine when it is down, didn't check the top bearing in the dome. If it is a real XPole I will contact XPole support.

    Thank you 🙂

Please call X-Pole Tech Support on 01707 664111.

It sounds like someone has undone the adjuster rod screws ad re-done them up on the threaded part, that is why they are not flush with the body and scraping on the cover.

If you can remove the adjuster cover and send photos of the screws and adjuster rod to xpoletech@x-pole.uk we can diagnose the problem very quickly.

Also as suggested please include your serial number. It is on a small White label on the flat surface of the dome.

    Regards
