  • Foam rolling injured hamstring?

    Hello all 🙂

I've injured my hamstring about two months ago during a too intense stretching session. I limped for about a week and a half afterwards. Now I don't feel my hamstring during my daily activities, but I do feel it when I stretch, so I try to work gently with it.

I wanted to know whether it is OK to foam roll the muscle before stretching it, or it could aggravate the injury at this stage.

When I injured mine the only thing that helped me to walk was to get a deep tissue massage.  I do not see how this could harm, but I also am not a doctor.

I did the same thing practicing for splits.
For me it was only rest that healed it completely. For months it was only a niggle, not enough to stop me exercising but it just wasn’t going away. And would really hurt if I tried to stretch it. A couple of weeks of more less complete rest, certainly nothing high impact, and it was fine.

Foam rolling can be amazing for muscle strains!
