    First day back after 2 weeks did not go so well. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif I think the problem is that I was off 2 weeks before that also and I've lost strength. Boo. I was waiting for gloves with tack because it's so humid here that I couldn't grip. Well, I can tell you that the gloves definitely grip , but they grip too much (you were right, Veena).

    It also doesn't help that I just got over a weird stomach virus.https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_puke_r.gif

    Oh, well. Enough excuses. I was still able to to the Basic invert, Plank, Gemini, Chopper, and Caterpillar…I just couldn't move my hands off the pole very well and I can tell my shoulders will be sore. Back to conditioning, strengthening, and anything else I can do where I don't have to move my hands too much. There's always spin mode! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

    I was just on my pole as well after six weeks.  I be darn if I can barely do a Caterpilliar anymore!

    It's so very frustrating, Lyme. I'm sure we'll both get it back before we know it! If we could just end this darn heat wave, now!

    Aww don't feel bad, the first day back is usually rough! Also, I still start with a some strength and conditioning before I jump into advanced stuff, when I've been off the pole, for some time. You'll get it back! If grip is still an issue with the humidity try working on floorwork, or just dancing and improving movement around the pole. 

    Lyme there are a lot of things I can't do right now, but I know they will come back.

    Thanks, Veena. I think I just wanted too much too soon. I usually warm up for at least 40 minutes before I really do any tricks, but I got impatient. The heat doesn't help. It's supposed to cool off so, hoepfully  I can get out and take a bicycle ride to kick startt my endurance. It's all good!

    You will get used to the extra grippyness of the gloves.  You are just so used to slipping and sliding right now, but just like everything pole you will get used to it in time.  I also use mighty grip gloves with tack, on super hot/humid days, or pretty much all the time on spin mode.  At first I thought the same as you, that they were too grippy, but you learn to adjust.  🙂

    Thanks, dustbunny. I won't give up on them. I think they will be great while learning new moves. I haven't quite been able to do a basic Star, but I was able to do one with the gloves on yesterday. I was able to hang on longer with my top arm while I found just the right spot for my lower arm. That will be their advantage, I believe.
