sorry, i couldn't delete it!  https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif   i agree that most doctors want to help their patients.  it's just depressing how many sick people there are, and how the statistics show cancer and other diseases are on the rise..  that's why i always encourage people to do their own research and not just listen to the mainstream…

You could just do what you have to do to prepare for a colonoscopy, for which your bowels have to be completely empty.  I expect it's on the net somewhere, but basically you have to follow a certain diet for a few days, then take this special stuff that makes you use the bathroom a lot.  Not sure what it's called, but "gastrolyte" comes to mind.  This is probably cheaper and safer than getting a colonic irrigation.

My docs don't give out prescriptions like crazy. My doc just took me off of medication that I have had to take for 5+ years as he knows it is never good to have to be on medication. Like gummypia, my docs always reccommend probiotics and cranberry pills. Oh, btw, MJ doesn't make people stupid and fat. It does make people a little goofy for about 2 hours, but that's it. No lingering effects. I know people who function very well with it. Unfortunately, there are a lot of misconceptions about it that still linger from the reefer madness days (but they are slowly being cleared up.) It actually helps with A LOT of illnesses. In fact, the cannibinoids in it can stop seizure activity! 🙂 I've seen lots of epileptics talk about how non of the pharma meds worked to stop their seizures, but MJ does the trick every time. There has also never been a single death from direct use of MJ.

I think diseases are on the rise, not from our bodies not cleansing itself, because I think it does that pretty well on it's own, but more from the availability of processed foods and chemicals everywhere.

Wow, didn't know this topic woujld get so heated!  Just wondering if any of you had a clonic and your experience., thats all. Thanks to those who gave information on your thoughts of it being harmful.  I am an RN and have worked in traditional medicine for 25 years.  However, being diagnosed with Lyme and the little/no response I got from traditional medical professionals has lead me down a different path.  I have finished up treatment with a MD who specialized in Pathophysiology.  Long story, she turned away from traditional meds and now treats with the holistic approach.  And THIS approch has help my Lyme more than anything else. She believes in Colonics and brought them to my attention.  She doesn't do them in her office, but gave me a referal.  I know there are good doctors out there, but many are not.  My father who was very ill with Parkinsons and 78 years old was cleared for quadrupile bypass surgery!!  I was  his advocate and when my father couldn't get up off the table after the Cardiologist "evaluated" him to see if he was a candidate for open heart surgery, I about fell off my chair when he said he would do fine!   Well they "squeezed" him in a few day later, billed insurance hundreds of thousands of dollars and my father never recovered.  Quickly went down hill  from that point until his death six months after the surgery that the Cardiologist assured us, he would do fine!  Believe me, I questioned him, told my father not to go through with it, but he believed the "expert".  My goodness, my dad could barely walk!  But enough with that.  There is a place for traditional medicine, but there is a place for holistic healthcare as well.  I agree with everything Tarah has said.  Yes, our bodies are made to cleanse themselves, but our bodies are made to eat diets that are natural, not processed with high fats, packed with antibiotics and ammonia gas.  I believe our diets over the years have gotten worse, and our body needs a little help once in a while to clean out all this junk.  Thanks all for your input on the subject….it is all about education, no matter what you decide.  On MJ comment, I have done my share of that in my younger days.  I believe there is a place for it.  Give me a person who is high on pot or drunk from alcohol, I would ride with the person high on pot in a minute!  Alchol (in MY opinion) is much more worse and harmful to people.   Now I don't want to take this thread down another direction on the harmful/benificial effects of MJ, just giving my opinion.  You may not agree, but that is your opinion and I respect that as well.   OK, going to go pole now…..  🙂

I think many of us are all trying to say the same thing, but in different ways. Eating natural foods is best, although I'm sure the pesticides are not helping with people getting sick. Eating foods we were meant to eat is the best way to keep ourselves healthy and keep our bodies from building up a ton of toxins (thus making us sick.) When I eat garbage, I feel gross and sick afterwards. I feel much better when I eat healthy foods, and I don't feel as tired throughout the day, ya know? Healthy foods will also help keep your digestive tract healthy, and it moves through it much quicker, so you are not as likely to get that unconfortable build up. Isn't chronic constipation associated with colon cancer???

Dont do it..I did it once. Thought i was going to lose all kinds of built up waste…FELT LIKE CRAP AFTERWARDS. I did not lose an ounce and had the worse gassy. bloated belly for days afterward. That's a one way street. Use some herbs to stimulate colon a little (dont go crazy) drink warm water and lemon juice, stay away from Gluten for a couple days. Give it a couple days and you should feel a difference. I love probiotics too..( turbo yogurt..make syour tummy feel great)

Hey! Just thought Id join in…. I have had it done before and know about 4 friends that have also had it done.

I thought the results were great!  The place I went – now this will be greaphic – but she counts all the "pieces" that are over 3 inches long – and a friend of mine had something like 38 and I myself had 25. Now do the math on that!  That is a lot of extra stuff in there.

Now you can watch this process at the place I went. So I know she wasnt making it up.

And about the good bacteria – she uses a liquid chlorophyl that gets diluted in with the water they use to clean you out. Also the amount that is going in you at one time is only 1 cup of water. So this isnt a blast of a large amount or anything.

I went twice and a couple months and that was about a year ago. I had no ill effects from it and was definitely less bloated going forward.

Two of my friends who go to the same place – they have a twist in their bowels or a kink, where material backs up over time. You can still pass poop, however its only when the back up beccomes too much that it will untwist to allow stuff to move.  Usually a kink will happen if you were ever in a car accident or had some sort of trauma to the body or abdomen. Even pregnancy.

Also it is great if you are lactose or gluten intollerant. If you have a back up of stuff in you and switch to gluten free, that stuff will sit in you for some time and you may wonder why going gluten free hasnt helped. Its cause its still in there!

I know Ive kinda jumped all over with this, but make your own decision based on information you gather and what you feel is helpful. Things like this arent for everyone and not everyone has a good experience or good results.

    Good luck!

I have tried two different colon cleansing methods in the past and did see results. But both times, did not finish the amount of days I was supposed to do it, because the effects started interfering with my daily life. Such as being in a meeting with someone and feeling rumbling sensations in my abdomen and thinking, "Oh know, please no embarassing body situations when I stand up….or….I really want to run to the restroom now." After reading these posts, I want to try again because now I am thinking, "My stomach will feel so flat and light for the pole!"

    Lyme Lyte,

I tried pysllium husks. Had to mix the pysllium husks dried formula with 8 oz. of water. It may have been the worst tasting mixture I have ever tried. I had to drink it very fast because within a few seconds the pysllium husks and water turned into a thick, goopy mixture which seemed like mucus. Sounds awful, I know. I think there were some pills that went along with this regime also. I could only do it for about a week and could no longer handle the awful drink plus being out in public and having to find a restroom because the formula was kicking in. But I did see results. Seeing the results made me think, "Yuck, THAT was in my body. Glad to get rid of it."

The second time, I tried, colon cleasning was through a kit I found  at a mall Vitamin store. May have been "Vitamin World." No drinking pyslliym husks in this kit. It was a serious of pills. I did not complete that regime either, because the effects were very uncomfortable with my daily life. Too much preoccupation with running to the restroom.

So, I want to try again. and am seriously wondering how I will find the time. It's as if I need a two week vacation from regular life, to be alone and go through a colon cleanse program!

I dont want to disrupt my daily life for days….like u said being hit w cramping, running to the bathroom etc. my understanding, a clonic takes care of everything within a hour. U may have some water leakage for a day or two, but thinking i will just wear a pad.

lyme, you won't have water leakage!  and i do agree with pegasus.  for a few days before, try to eat the healthiest diet you can.  fruits, veggies and avocado is great.  you will be more comfortable and have better results.

to explain a little more – one of the main functions of the colon is to re-absorb water back into the body.  you will notice afterward that you will have to pee more than usual that day.  the entire body gets hydrated, which is great, especially for the kidneys.  that is why it is so important to use spring water or purified water.   tap water (even for an enema at home) is not the greatest, since it usually contains fluoride and other chemicals that could harm your natural flora.  https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_mrgreen.gif
