I attend Spinarella and have attended others in the area and I absolutely love the studio. From the owners to the teachers to the classes on down the line. The polenastics and pole series classes are the greatest and they have lots of others.

Mocha, I am the one who made that statement and when your studio is EXTREMELY well known for your videos then that is what is first to come to mind. It was not meant as a dig to VJ’s and you need to take a step back. While I have not attended the studio I do own the videos and have recommend them to many others.

@ Chemgoddess: pls do not tell me to take a step back!!!! Like I stated before, VJs is more than booty popping and our clients know that.
Btw, I only have opinions and offer feedback on studios that I have personally been to. I don’t make assumptions, u know what they say about assuming?
-
I don’t think she said VJs wasnt good at other stuff. In my opinion it was a positive comment. ie: If you want to be sexy and sassy go to VJs. Not because you only do booty popping but because if the OP wants to learn that, you guys will sure be kick ass at teaching it!

The above also ties in with the comment aimed at tigerlillies about all studios being good but aimed at different people. I have been to three studios and would still attend all three if poss. My main one has an amazing sociable class and mostly pole conditioning. The other I attend to try more advanced moves. The third for choreography. If business is good, who cares what you’re known for?

Back to the original post…. I like VJs, Spinarella, Polewaxers & Polelateaz. I have not visited Dance 411, Eye Fit Candy, Primary Fitness (also there’s a few new pole studios that have popped up, don’t remember the names), so I can’t offer any info on those. Have fun poling in Atl 🙂

Mocha, I did not say that VJ's was only booty popping, but as I stated and clarified, VJ's is well known all over the world as the place to learn that.

I would highly suggest taking privates with someone if you are trying to compete. It will get you where you want to be faster IMO. besides be spun also look at choregraphy house to see if they do competition training as well. kelly yvonne is excellent at themes, choreography ideas, etc… I love her Girl Next Door shows. She really embraces the theatrical side of pole which I love.
Also Body and Pole offers pole bootcamps as well in NYC (I think they are like 4 days or something like that). Plus these ladies have excellent traditional dance backgrounds which they are excellent at blending together.
Another place that is awesome in Atlanta is Sky Gym. I know the owner there as well. She rocks 🙂 It is great cross training for pole and will build your strength quickly. I believe she has conditioning classes as well. Her new space is beautiful. She started small as well and now has a strong following.
@Mocha000 Thanks for your support! You always rock at our showcases! (I really liked the "Set It Off" piece) Hope to see you in a future showcase 🙂

Here is a link to Heidi Coker. She does teach at our studio but she handles all of her own private lessons.

This was our duets showcase 🙂 I think her and Eva (another instructor of mine) did such an excellent job of blending the artistry and the advanced tricks. I was personally very moved by this performance.
Heidi is excellent at unique artistry but also incorporates the advanced tricks. She has competed all over the world. I feel you will not be disappointed. She teaches our Level 7 and advanced workshops. She also does continuing education for our instructors as well. But she can get you to the next level that you need for competing since she has first hand experience.

I know your style and your strength. Check out Becca Butcher and also Samantha Star, besides our buddy Pantera. Becca has a martial arts background and does corde lisse and trained Charlee Wagner. Samantha uses a lot of hand balancing and unusual combinations in her pole work. Charlee is ridiculously bendy but strong too. I don't think Becca is as bendy.

Samantha's Midwest performance: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fh3OFhmk0Qs
Personally I think Samantha's performance was cleaner than Charlee's but Charlee's performance played more to teh audience. The fact that Samanths has not pole/dance/acrobatic background makes her stick out more to me.
A really good demo of Becca's style: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JeTVKP3pmgU
