HI Jenny you can go in the chat every tuesday at 8h in the evening. We just get together and do some stretch. If you have a webcam you can use it or just watch the mose Gsylass do.

By the way i should be able to join you next week girl https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_batman.gif

    Dear Gsylass and Pavi,

I attempted the cobra against the pole tonight. You're both evil for even putting the idea into my head. My back is not my friend any more!

Still <3 you both. Hope to see you next week!

Yay for Tigger next week!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_batman.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif

LOL @ new torture… I think this was thanks to Pavi's instructor (?) who had them do a cobra with the pole between their thighs, then reach up and grab the pole above and behind their heads. I have a rather flexy back so was able to do it quite comfortably https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_eek.gif Amaranth please be careful of your back!! Injury is bad!!

Jenny we'd love to see you if you can make it – the more the merrier! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif

Vinter, we missed you https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_heart1.gif Hope the hams are better soon!

It was Emil Valentino who had made my instructor do it, then she showed us. But all classmates agreed that this kind of torture is far beyond acceptable :-D.

We have done something similar in stretch class, but with a buddy sitting on your hams and grabbing your hands, pulling slightly. Torture… I might try the pole grab thing if my chest stops hurting soon.

that cobra (grabbing the pole behind you) is my faaaaavorite, we do it in our stretch class in NYC– it's very nice, if you pull your head to the pole then it works lower back, if you try to straighten your arms it works upper back. but you should do a lot of circling cobras, bridges, scorpions, etc before so your back is limbered up!

@amy: I know what cobra is, but what are circling cobras?

oh dear tried to type out the description and this may be awful.

start on your stomach, with hands down on either side. lift your chest off the ground, turn your body toward the left, opening your chest, opening your shoulders as much as possible, and as you bring your chest up as high as you can, lift your head to look over your left shoulder. then transition into regular cobra buy bringing your right hsoulder back, then transition to look over to your right and transition back down to the ground, letting your head be the last thing to drop.

so it's a cobra, but you are bringing your upper body and more specifically, the shoulders, in a circle into it and out of it. i find that this warms up my back much, much faster than anything else!
