Hi! I'm starting pole classes in one month at Providence Pole Fitness (Boston Pole Fitness sister site!) and I was wondering if there was Veeners who went here who I could meet up with? I'd love to have a pole buddy when I went!

Awh, yeah! I knew it was a bit of a long shot since the stte is so small. 🙂 Do you take classes anywhere? Or were you looking to?

I just figured out how to view a profile, nevermind about the going to class bit! I'm still rather new here. 🙂

haha it's ok 🙂 I teach in Bellingham right over the Woonsockett line in MA, and have studio access whenever. I've been poling for like 7 years and am always looking for new pole buddies to practice with!

That's awesome! Maybe once I get a car (within the next few months) I could drop by your studio? Does it have a website or anything, so I can get the information?

I'm in RI, too! …and I actually take lessons from AliciaPolerina (Hi, Alicia!).  She's awesome and the studio is the most beautiful studio that I've been to within the RI/Mass area.  If you're close enough to go regularly, I highly recommend it.  🙂  I've also been to Providence Pole Fitness once.  Those girls are really fun and nice, too.  The studio's smaller with less amenities, but you could still learn alot and have fun there. 🙂  Maybe see you around sometime!

Marisa – I wish I could get there! I saw the pictures on her site – it's gorgeous! I talked to my boyfriend, and he said that once he gets a car, he'd bring me by her studio every once and a while, probably for an open pole class. It's thirty minutes away from me. 🙂 I visited Providence Pole, and yeah, it's really tiny. But the classes seem to be very work-at-your own pace, which sounds nice. Let me know if you're ever taking a class there again!

twiztid – I wish I could get to studios in MA, there seems to be quite a few more there than in RI! But I'm currently using the RIPTA bus system, so I can't get out of state. 🙁 However, I very well might drop by once I have access to a car!

Casey – That's awesome! Maybe I'll see you around?

Casey – Where are you gonna take classes?

I DONT take classes from a studio. I feel like they are very cliqueky…(spelling?) And I don’t progress as fast as I do when I jam once or twice a week. Plus when I compete I don’t want to be affiliated with a studio

I guess you could call me a rogue poler!!

I wish I could pole at home – I live with my mom, and while she's willing to let me attend class, I don't think she'd appreciate a pole in the house! Besides, we rent, and the landlord wouldn't allow it. 🙁

It sounds like it'd be better though, what with being able to practice whenever you want! And I'm nervous about the cliques, too. But when I visited, all of the girls seemed really nice!

I live in MA, just outside of Worcester, I have to travel pretty far to go to classes so I decided to get certified and open my own place! Coming Soon!!! Until then I would love to visit the Bellingham studios, any tips on which classes to attend? I'd like to take a couple in a row if I'm going to be driving out there.

Yayyy more Veeners around! 🙂 @Elysabeth I would check out schedules at places that you were thinking of attending and see what works for you, and what style of pole you were looking for.  I do most of my classes from a dance/ballet perspective (except the sexy ones hehe) and am training to be a aerial fabric instructor because we have those too!  Your welcome at our studio any time here's the schedule!

But hey, check out both places and see what works for you 🙂

And there's no cliques here either, everyone is welcome and equally encouraged to do their best and progress at the rate that's good for them.  Some progress faster and are moved up accordingly so no one feels left behind or bored.  I've kinda been a lone poler up here for so long that I'm just happy to find other locals lol!

I can attest to that at Pole Fitness Plus, there aren't any cliques.  We're all kind of working on our own things and friendly with everyone.  I used to have a pole up in my house, and I still use it where it's up now from time to time, but I actually prefer going to the studio because I can call Alicia over and ask her how something looks, or about technique.  I also really love that the girls in my class are all supportive and will celebrate with me when I get a new move down. 🙂

ooh, I would love to try a Polerina class. Mondays are tough for me, I have a week off coming up, maybe I'll plan for then. Or I'll email you for a private lesson when I have the extra money. 🙂

I live in Salem MA and love to hang out and meet people but am also sadly without a car for the time being. So anybody who wants to jam has to come to me! I pretty much only pole “out” when I can snag a ride.
