Hi Mechie, can I please ask what level of iTac2 did you use, iTac2 level 4 is the strongest? If you didn't use level 4 send me a email (peter@inyourfacesports.ca) and I'll send you a sample. Hopefully you're okay. Cheers

I think iTac is brill and really helps when you need that grip, however, I have found for some moves it is best to have just skin. When I was learning cross knee release I once didn't have enough grip and used iTac on my inner thigh – which did make me stick really well, but as I leant back, my thigh suddenly moved. Think its because normally my skin would have to move slightly on the pole to get that part of sticking but with the iTac it just stuck where it was.
iTac is really good for the moves where you position yourself and that's it – no skin needs to move!

Last night I was doing a shoulder mount V – a relatively new move for me but I’d done it successfully before, then next thing I know BAM. Fell and hit my head directly onto the X-stage. I still don’t even know how it happened, but thankfully just minor concussion. It won’t put me off going on a pole though, these things happen.

I hit my head pretty hard on pretty hard last night and wasnt doing any tricks… Just some dancing and hair flipping… Gahh Im so clumsy sometimes

Take out on of those “pretty hard”
Typing too fast on a cellphone leads to errors -
I fell doing the forward dove drop and missed the hook and this is after I have done this move a bunch of times…it probably was my scareist fall todate

I have had three falls all up: one was a rookie error, I was at home learning to swap from a scorpio to a gemini and was trying to practice without looking up (I thought it looked 'unprofessional') and the first thing I did was completely miss the pole and land on my back. No serious injury though. The second was going from an extended butterfly to pyramid, my top foot slipped and I fell on my butt – managed to tear my hamstring on the way. The third was recently, I am trying to get my split grip ayesha and my top hand slipped – I controlled it until just below the floor and then fell onto my shoulder and "muffin top" so no serious injury. I think the best advice is: if you are injured, heal up first – don't try to get back on the pole too quickly (which is what I did with my hamstring, and made it worse), but at the same time, don't get spooked, and get back on the pole and do that move you fell out of (with a spot)!!! Always pole with someone at home or in your studio and never practice things you're not comfortable with without a spot!! Happy poling 🙂

I have only had one "bad fall" and it was when I just learned inverts and wanted to learn to go to a handstand from a cross knee release/hangback (?). I lost my focus for a second and slipped before my hands were in place and landed on my head. My neck was a bit sore and I was scared to try again but otherwise I was fine. Didn´t try it for a long time again though! 😛
Otherwise I have had some more funny falls. One was when I learned to stand in a bridge with my butt to the pole and push of with one foot and "walk-over" through a handstand to standing. One time I stopped pushing to soon and I was sure It would work. And no, I just fell right back on to my back and strarted laughing. 😛 Got it on video and it looked hilarious! 😀

My recent fall was not scary but i did face palm the floor no crash mat. I was attempting to do the marley but was to into what i was doing and forgot to dry myself and the pole off, so when i got into position and let go of the pole a little to adjust my legs down i came.
My funny fall was in Friday's Chat session with fellow veenians! I had cut cam on and was feeling it but my pole showed me who was the boss and came crashing down. The faces in the room were like (@_@) (o.O) (O_O) (O.o) (*.*) (*_*) with a roaring sound of OOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHH are you alright!!! I had to use my professional play it off skills like nothing happen 😀

I fell off several times while trying to learn the CKR. Fortunately, since I was learning, I had thought to put down some pillows! It didnt hurt too badly and I pretty much expected it would happen at some point (hence the pillows). Be safe! If you're attempting a trick for the first time, put down some padding!

I fell while trying to get a photo of a CAR. I was in a hurry so I would beat the timer and my ankles came uncrossed. I landed on the top of my shoulders. Thank God I had my head tucked! My hands were spread to the sides like a cross, so they hit as well. I compressed my spine, but the chiroprator got everything realigned! I had photos, but stupidly deleted them. I should have had them enlarged and pasted onto my walls!

I did and it shook my confidence for a little over a month.
I was being bold and thought i could rock the Butterfly like i did last class. My teacher was helping another girl across the room and was unaware of my bold idea. So i got up there perfectly……but as soon as i extended my arm to push away from the pole, down i went. Chin first to hardwood floor. I amazingly didn't make a loud thud so the teacher didn't even notice. I laid on my belly stunned and recollecting myself. By the time the teacher came back over i was already up and doing spins {hiding my pain}. Too embarrassed to say anything, I didn't do inverts the rest of the class. Then I avoided inverts the next class but the teacher caught on. I fessed up and we worked on getting my confidence back up for the past month. Now I'm back to inverting without panic. I'm a lot more cautious though.

I fell out of an aysha recently. Got it on video, too!

I've only ever properly fallen once… about 2 months back and I still get a little scared. We were basic inverting – A LOT – because a few of us were new to the class and she didn't know what we could and couldn't do. It was SO hot and I knew I was tired. So I've inverted, took my hands off, twisted round facing the floor ready to come down. Everything like usual.
Then as I'm sliding down the pole with my arms and hands out ready to touch base with solid ground my legs gave way and my hands – instead of hitting the floor like they are meant to – slid forward and I landed on the top part of my left chest and my chin – legs still half suspended… pretty funny if you imagine it in your head – believe me all I could do was laugh – a mix of embarrassment and pure surprise.
Now I'm attempting any move my teacher will give me from Gemini's to Elbow grips – any of it. But when she says 'Invert and come down so we can check our grip' I still have to have her come and stand and spot me out of pure fear when I twist and look straight down to the ground.

I fell on my face (literally, I managed to land on my face) trying to do an Oona split. I fell a million different times trying to do an Allegra. Oh and last weekend I meant to drop and catch myself from a Star and instead ended up landing on my feet in a very obvious fall in front of a group of people. Don’t drink and pole, it hurts.

Last Friday I was in "sad girl" pose when someone in class cracked a joke. I stared laughing and knew I was in trouble. I dropped to the floor like a rock! Lucky for me I landed butt first because of the pose I was in. I'm sure, at some point, I'll land on my face too.

Fell out of a bow and arrow ONTO MY HEAD. Never doing that move again. EVER!

I fell out of Remi sit on a spinning pole. My flexed foot stopped flexing ever so slightly and I would have landed on my head but instinct took over and I grabbed the pole with one hand and kinda with my butt long enough to avert disaster. It turned me off that move for a while but I got back up and tried it again next class (not on spin) until I felt comfortable enough to try again on spin. Then I put it in a routine for competition and practiced it over and over again. Now it's one of my favorites!
