AERIAL SILK ONLINE LESSONS?

I can't speak for silks, but as for pole dance….Our website is the only site that offers lessons that progressively build on one another. The focus is also on build up the necessary strength first, this is beyond important! Sadly, many studios do not even offer this progression to their students!! Our lessons are NOT randomly placed, leaving the viewer wondering what to look at next. Even in studio it's up to the student to listen to instruction and actually follow. Veena, it was not my intention to cast aspersions on your lessons. It's always about how students approach learning i this manner and of course you have arranged your lessons intentionally and have put a lot of thought into how they progress. I do think people need to think twice about learning some skills online…and silks for me is one of them. Even learning off video and manuals is best done in the company of one other person so that if something goes wrong there's a friendly hand to cut you out of the knot!

Aerial Silks led me to this Group. I am so glad because I just got my first Pole !!!! After reading all the posts and meeting others in this Awesome Community I am awaiting my Pole to be installed and then I will sign up for the lessons.. I Hoop and do Silk Hammock and now I hope to learn Pole.
I am from So Cal but now live in Arkansas. Frankly we have no classes, no teachers,and no studios here that I am aware of in North Central Arkansas. Anyone from Arkansas? Please jump in and let me know where you are located? It is so maddening.
I took a Silks Class as someone was passing through teaching a workshop about 2 hours below me. A one time deal and I fell in love. So now I practice carefully at home and at the Park. I researched and researched and am using a Manual to learn. When I get my Arm strength up I will fly out of State to take some Studio Lessons. I purchased my Aerial Hammock from Aerial Empowerment who is a member on this site. I purchased my Silk Hammock from Hope McCurdy an actual Performer and I feel she knows safety and what she is talking about..
I guess what I am trying to say is some of us do not have a choice but to take online classes or learn online due to where we live or our situations. I am fortunate I can afford to travel for workshops. Many cannot do this. That could change tomorrow. You have to use your head and not practice alone and learn in a progressive way. I am really pleased with the Silk Hammock Manual I am using from Rebekah Leach.

Good for you Ozark. I too am only getting lessons through Veena. I do visit studios when I am out of town for business etc., but it isn’t like I can do that on a weekly basis. Keep putting it out on the site where ur from, and sooner or later u will get some local connections. I know I have!

There are DVDs available for Aerial Fabric instruction. The curriculum was developed over 7 years and incorporates conditioning along with poses and locks. It is sequential and each level leads to many routine combinations. They have been the foundation for many aerialists and even studios. You can find them at http://www.aerialfabric.com
