    Hi polers!

I'm planning on selling my top-loading Chrome 50mm pole which I have had since 2008 (anybody interested pm me – I live in London, UK) and getting an Xpole Xpert.

I dance on custom made 38mm poles (I think they are stainless steel) at my current school and find with my petite hands I have better grip and feel safer, so have decided to go for the 40mm poles from xpole.

I have a dilemma: do I stick with chrome or try titanium gold or try brass?

In the UK, it's mainly cold and my skin is relatively dry – I hardly sweat no matter how hard I work out and I have issues gripping on my chrome pole unless I leave the heating on for 5 hours (yes I have monitored this) and then the room and pole is warm enough to work out on. I've only found solace in rubbing shaving foam over my legs to get some grip.

I was wondering if anyone has any experience on a TG or brass pole in a UK – dry, cold climate? It's a lot of money to invest so I don't want to buy another pole I can't stick on and I don't know anybody with those poles I can try first.

    Thanks in advance 🙂

Current pole is actually 45mm circumference 141mm >_< definitely going for a 40mm in this case!

40mm do not come in TG, so it is either chrome or brass as your options.

It seems the girls with dry skin work best with TG and powder coat. X pole will be releasing a powder coated 40 this summer, so you might want to wait until it is released. Dry skin and brass don't always mesh. Powder coat works well in cold climates. It doesnt take as much time to warm up as the other materials (about the same as brass.)

    Hi AerialGypsy,

yeah, we have 40mm in chrome, tg and brass in the UK now! I thought about powder coat but then I heard it is super grippy it takes skin off, so I was aiming for something in the middle that isn't too slick and isn't too sticky it takes my skin off lol!

I have thought about powdercoating my pole for a while though.  I won't get a pole until I sell this one so I still have time to wait! x

Thanks for the feedback on the pole and materials too 🙂

Do you know if tg would be slippery in cold climates?

It's hard to say, since you and the climate will work together. Veena said her TG worked well in her cold climate. Are you close to the X pole office to go touch their samples???

No, I don't think there is one near by sadly. 🙁

I think I might ask around my pole school or just go for the TG pole. 🙂
