Hi Eva x….I'm 36 and just started about 2 months ago….my kids are 16, 18 and 20….so I needed to find something fun and that I wouldn't feel like I'm dragging myself to the gym to be in shape and healthy.  I love it….I just did my first invert today and I feel like if I'm on top of the world!!  I'm not famous or anything like that, but I just wanted to let you know that it's never to late to start something new and fun!!!

Im 31 ( closer to 32!) and just started pole. I have 2 kids, 5 and 7. Of course you can pole and make changes to your body!  No one is ever too old to make changes. I know some 40 year old ladies with awesome bodies even after kids!! You can be as good as you want to be, you just need consistant practice and focus on flexibility and eventually you will get where you want to be!

    You are young!!!

Our physical age is not necessarily an indication of our overall abilities. Don't be discouraged!!! You can use right now as an opportunity to improve your physical capabilites and grow your skills. I'm stronger now than I have ever been in my life thanks to pole. My friends comment now on how I have 'guns'! Lol!

I WISH I could say I'm in my 30's LOL  I just turned 57 Monday 10/22!  I started poling about 6 yrs ago and wish I started earlier.  Anyway, I am glad for what I've accomplished, for the strength I've developed, etc.  In the past few months I started cross-training at a bootcamp fitness place I found, as well as private training.  I don't have a studio close by that meets my needs, so I do the fitness training which is helping me with pole.

And there are many in my age group and even older who rock!  So, don't focus on age, don't compare and HAVE FUN!!!!https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

Hi, eva X, I didn't start pole dancing until a few weeks before I turned 30. I have 4 kids. Although I have not had the desire or time to compete, and I'm not famous, I'm proud of what I've accomplished.

You can do anything you put your mind to! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif

haha, Veena is so modest. Has a grip named after her, has a climb named aftr her, has a drop named after her –> insists she’s not famous :p

I’m pretty sure Alethea Austin is 32. And Natasha Wong was 35 when she won USPDF. Leigh Anne Reilly just turned 30

I remember when Veena started – she actually was not only near 30 but pole danced through her fourth pregnancy!!!!  Rockstar!

I'm 32 and although I started at 27 – I didn't really start to perform or comepete until I was 30.  I actually turned 30 before my first competition.

My best advice on getting "good" is just stay with it, don't over work your body and polish things up as you go – MOST IMPORTANT – have fun and love your body, afterall it's life giving!

Athene30,  I do not have a dance or gymnastics background.

Thanks guys, I still do not see myself as "famous", that's not what I'm working towards anyway. My goal is that everyone, both women and men regardless of age or size, are provided with the tools to allow them to enjoy pole dance!

You guys should look back on some of Charley's old video's, she has become such a fluid, expressive and controlled dancer!

Age is a number….. check out this woman who started hula hooping at age 55 and she has osteoporosis!!! Check out her video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ic1EiT8N5eo&feature=relmfu

check out zoraya judd's page (she's super famous!) and read her story of how she started – on one hand, she's an unrealistic example because her husband is a personal trainer and I get the impression she does nothing but exercise. But she started around 30, and had already had two kids, and now it's only like 4 years later and she's a world champ 🙂
