Smaed, it might be worth trying uninstalling and reinstalling the app?
CloSmo – thanks! I found the difficulty level now I know where to look 🙂 Apparently I’m on medium. Had I realised sooner, it would have been set to easy!!

Yep, for things like that I’d recommend uninstalling and reinstalling the app.

Guess it depend on how fit you are. I’m quite unfit and find three challenges leaves me aching. So any more for me is probably a bad idea!

Ok. I had to drop it down to easy yesterday! No way I could make 151 sec 🙁

The disappointing thing is when you drop it to easy it changes the numbers on all the days you completed to the “easy” times, so I feel like it erased my progress. I was hoping it would show what I’ve done so far, and kind of adjust it, but basically it just makes it like you’ve been on easy all along…

The app is cool, and obviously without it (and all of your wonderful encouragement) I would not have started doing this challenge… So I hate to criticize… But I do think in general there is a lot of room for improvement.

@Smaed1 are you still having trouble? When you hit the difficulty level button (first pic) you should get this screen (second pic)

Day 11 145 seconds and I did it. Yesterday at 125 sec I dropped my knees down a few times. But I didn’t see that as failure. I see it as a way to get stronger. But today I held the full 145 sec. I did wiggle my hips here and there but stayed in plank. Omg I got this. Bring on the next day. Oh yeah tomorrow I got you, specially because it will be my rest day 😃

Tried my challenge today and my back started to hurt about 10 seconds in!! I don’t know what’s wrong with me. So I pressed ‘no’ when it asked if I completed, and then started it again and did the V sit for 84 seconds instead! Got pack pain in the last 10 seconds or so but much better than the plank. So annoyed that I can’t finish it properly but I figured doing some sort of stomach exercise is better than nothing! Thanks for the idea 🙂 I’ll keep doing it!

Back pain, not pack pain xD

I’ve read that back pain happens when your core quits supporting you… so maybe 74 secs is the max your core can do right now, and then it starts quitting and your back has to take over for the last bit? Maybe repeat 74 secs another day or two and then build up from there? Back pain bad 🙁 But I’m really glad the V Sit is working out better for you! Woohoo! 😀

To those who asked.. Sadly, that app just won’t work on my phone (I even had my 12 year old son try. It works on his) so, I downloaded a different one. This morning I woke up to saxophones and a note saying “Squats. One day closer to being sexy as
    fu?k!!!
    Ok… Ill take it! Lol

Smaed1–I can’t believe that’s what you woke up to–hilarious. Weird way to start the day.

I just did day 10 so I’m 1/3 of the way but dang! Today the time went up 20 seconds and tomorrow it goes up another 20!! I did three minutes today, the most I’ve ever done, and I can’t believe it thinks I can go up more tomorrow, we’ll see. I’ve been alternating between doing them on my elbows versus on my hands with my arms straight figuring it works the muscles a little differently. I have my doubts about all this but have made it so far so I’m just gonna see how far I can go.

@smaed1, won’t work on mine either! What app are you using instead (and do you find the saxophones to be motivating? 😉

Ok, it’s been getting to the point where I’m going backwards! It’s hard for me to even hold my original 51 seconds. I think my core is tired. My inverts are sucking. I need more rest/recovery. I’m going to keep going for another day or so and see how it pans out. But I might need to pull out. I’m definitely liking planking though and will try and incorporate it more in my exercising regardless.

    How is everyone else doing?

I’m finding the same thing, I get to about 67 seconds and feel like I’m going to crash! Maybe because it’s basically every day? Should we be planking every day or should we have a rest day in between? I don’t want to stop though maybe if we change it up a bit? Hold what we can and just keep track of our times?

I’m inclined to agree…I’ve basically given up 🙁 I built up to where I got to around 60 seconds, but it seems that that was my limit. I managed it for a few days and have been going backwards since then. I’m disappointed, but also astounded that these girls who I’ve seen doing it are able to hold it for so long each day…I kind of feel like if their core is that strong already then they don’t need to be doing a plank challenge! So yeah, perhaps a shake-up of the rules is needed, although for the next couple of days I’m off planks altogether as I don’t want to put my back at risk.

I made it to Day 10 but day 11 I had to put my knees down, but I got further than I thought. I made 3 minutes at day 10 but couldn’t hold 3 min 20 sec on day 11. The next day was a rest day so today I’m supposed to try the 3 min 20 secs again. I’ll at least give it a try. It seems like it increases too quickly (at least for me) as it moves on.

grayeyes if you set it to easy mode it goes up by 10 seconds each time rather than 20 (I think)

I’m taking the 30 days as a guideline, not a stick to beat myself with. (Not easy for me as a schedule-loving perfectionist!) On Fri I had some deep tissue work done, so I took Fri and Sat off. I intend to pick it up again tonight. I’m managing the increases so far, but my start point was pretty poor so the increases are still quite reasonable. I may feel differently by day 15 or something! I think if it’s a struggle, it’s better to dial it back a bit and keep doing *something* even if it’s modified or less time or whatever. These challenges can feel like an all-or nothing, success or failure thing but in reality, doing anything, no matter how small, is a massive positive impact for our fitness and represents a success! High 5s to all of us!
