2013 January Challenge
Posted by Veena on January 2, 2013 at 10:36 amIts a new year! I'm sure many of us have new pole goals in mind. Our lovely member Azriel suggested we do a challenge related to these goals!
This month share with us your pole goals. It could be done through clips attempting that move/moves. Or if your goal is to work on fluidity then post a video working on that. Maybe you want to improve flexibility, then make a video for that. You could also put together photo clips in a video or just tell us your goals. These videos will be your starting points, so there is no need for anything to be perfected.
These will be great to look back on throughout the year! Oh, love this. I was just looking back through my vids from January of 2012 and it amazes me how far I've come. So many things to work on in 2013!!

Yay! This is gonna be tough.. i have so many areas i want to work on, i don't even know what to choose! It'll probably be more than one though, for sure!

I guess I'm gonna be too embarrassed to show you what I'm working on…
Actually one of my goals is to pick one song every month and set up a little routine – I started today and recorded the 2nd and 3rd try – but the result was either sad or funny, I'm not sure if I sould cry or lough..
Another goal is to do the splits, but since I'm sooooo far away from doing them, this would definetly be a very sad video. I don't want to make anyone cry… or lough at me https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif -
@Tacha, but it will be great to look back on and everyone will be so impressed at your success if you work on your goals! Personally I love seeing those awesome success stories from people who had a long, long way to go.

I wish I had read this before my practice yesterday. l would have set up the camera to record my first attempts at Poisson and Allegra!

Tacha- laugh! Pole is so fun, funny, cool, sexy, and challenging. we are all at different levels, and being frustrated is common but don’t be sad. Life is so much better when you “let it go and just enjoy the show” 🙂

Hey tash dnt worry I’m in same boat trying to build routines n I suck to n my video is awful. But wen I figure out how to upload it I will. I’m just nervouse on camera so look a plonnker haha no confidence when being filmed. But pictures ill crack a pose out ne were now I’m use to it lol xxx

I have been wanting to work on strength for gemini climb, that will be first on my list.
I don't know if I DARE list handstand. It's been a horrible feat for years now. I record my attempts and delete them, it's pretty bad!!! Maybe I'll start keeping them now. I'm going to contact someone in my area to ask about scheduling sessions for this. Pretty bad to have to pay someone, but I've tried and tried and tried and tried. Gotten close once or twice at my fitness training, but not enough. My goal is to get this by end of year, yes, YEAR lol

I have yet to try any of the challenges for this reason-I’m not good at putting together routines or even combos for that matter-so. I’m going to do this challenge and commit to working on these things so I’m not so afraid of looking bad on camera! 😛

YAY!!!! This is going to be tons of fun! Cant wait to review the Challenge videos! I wish everyone tons of confidence, strength, fluidity, encouragement, and energy to pull off there moves!

Love this challenge. It spurs me to work on what I've been procrastinating on, among many, but at least I can start something!

I think I'm going to have 2. I'm still thinking about it, but I think want to get a nice King Pigeon and I want to get my Allegra. There are certain moves that I can do on the pole that are difficult because certain areas are more flexi then other parts of my body and I think I can get this one if I really work on it.

I've never participated in a challenge, but this seems like a good one to try! I'll work on a video submission.

It’s been quite a while since I’ve done much of anythin on the pole so I am basically starting myself back to the very basics of just pole holds, pole sits, basic spins…get my strength back!!. But my goal is to get back to where I was last spring ( yes it’s been that long!)- which was finally learning how to do basic inverts. If I get brave maybe I will post a video…. But I get a lot of motivation and incourag,net to keep trying from all you ladies who DO post videos! So thank you!! Happy poling! 😉

Okay so my goal is to be more comfortable with doing laybacks. I also want (and need) to practice handstands so I can be more "organized" when I'm upside down and don't freak out as much anymore and complete a move. I don't have a lot of time or space to practice as much as I'd like to, but I'm hoping for my next studio recital I can be doing this!

I know its way late but this is a good idea. That way when we can look back and see how far we have really come.
I may not post it but I an going to try it out!
