I’m learning how to do the spiral climb in class, but I can’t get the hang of it.

Here’s where I continue to screw up: I can’t seem to get the momentum to keep the pole spinning & me going around the pole at the same time. Any ideas on how to get that momentum without killing myself?

If anyone has a video of the spiral climb or knows of an instructional vid on YouTube please let me know.

    Thanks for your help!

I swing my outside leg out on the first ‘step’ up the pole (so inside leg on pole outside leg pointed out and round?) I’m no instructor but I think I also pull myself up and round kind of like a cross leg fireman spin without so much spin

are you doing this on spin mode??? If your on static, use your hands to twist yourself around the pole..
