So, I learned for two years at Dance 411 in Atlanta. I liked it because they had a contemporary pole dance class which played a myriad of music and concentrated on ballet, contemporary dance and pole combined. They also had a ballet pole/Stretch fitness class which I loved. They cancelled the classes and eventually I just felt like it wasn’t the place for me to learn anymore. I finished through level 5.

Two years and a baby later, I am considering finding a new place, but I have some trepidation. I want classes that are not all hip hop and booty shaking. Not that I don’t love those, but I do not want to go to a studio where that is all I am doing. I am a contemporary/modern dancer. I am a burlesque dancer.

I know there is Polelateaz. I know there is Vertical Joe’s. I know there is Spinerella? Anybody have thoughts on these studios. Do they have non hip hop music themed classes?

Hi Franki, I have been to all of those studios including Pole Waxer University. I enjoyed Polelateaz the most but they have moved too far away from me. I keep coming back to Veena. I am currently looking for a pole partner because I have a real problem with staying motivated on my own. If you find another studio, let me know. Good luck.

Thank you for your reply! I am going to try Polelateaz here in a few weeks to give them a try. Of course Veena is going to be paramount for my continued education. Just downloaded the app and am going to start tonight!
