how far should I space poles in the studio
Posted by Dawn Thomas on February 3, 2016 at 1:59 amHi pole family!
I am trying to decide how many poles I should order for my studio. Studio Owners or to anyone that can advise…how far apart should I space my poles? Thanks for your time and response!Dawn

I would suggest a minimum of 6 feet. That’s what they were supposed to be at my studio but my contractor can’t measure

Most competitions have their poles 8 feet apart (sometimes a little more). I’d say at least 6 feet apart so everyone has enough room, but 8 feet would help minic competition conditions if anyone in your studio were to go down that path. 🙂

I agree with 6ft minimum. There’s no point squeezing in loads of poles if students can’t use them at the same time, without kicking each other. Id rather share than have to constantly worry about my surroundings.

I agree, 6 is minimum…I REALLY don’t like teaching or dancing in studios with close poles. I have long legs and I don’t want to feel like I’m going to hit anything.

I like 7′ as a minimum, 8′ is really nice. As someone else said, I’d rather share than have to worry about kicking people.
