Unfortunately I have to take down my X-Pole, as I put it up last summer in a bad spot, it’s really just not enough room!
Anyway I’m looking to sell it, and I cannot remove the base insert (I think that’s what it’s called, the tiny tube part that’s attached to the base part). Picture –> http://imgur.com/STN1vPq

I have tried loosening the hex screws so that it’s in spin mode, but then it goes like this: http://m.imgur.com/pQYpAPW and it won’t go any further!

    Am I doing something wrong?

I’ve had this problem virtually every time and I just wiggle it until it miraculously comes apart. I haven’t found a real solution, but I hope someone here can provide something more concrete!

I had given up, but I’ll have another go at it when I get home – thanks for your help!

    Did you try calling xpole?

Just phoned them, apparently it’s supposed to just slide right off and there’s a groove worn into the base somehow and that’s why it seemed to just lock at a certain point. I got it now anyway; the secret is to aggressively shake it until it just slides right off 🙂 thank you!
