    Hey everyone,

I’m a newbie to this site and to Pole Dancing, after having twins 19 months ago and working full time I really need to get into some excercise I enjoy so come 21:00 I don’t want to just sit and veg, I want to have a go on the pole! anyway, long story short, I’ve started lessons (my first one was last Wednesday), I previously had a go a few years ago and loved it so i’ve also bought an x pole to practice at home. Unfortunately, i’ve now hurt my arm from probably being a little too ambitious/foolish. Did anyone find their elbow hurt at the beginning? it’s only on my right arm. I have bruises up my legs which i’m ok with but does your skin stop bruising eventually?

The other questions I have would be, how often did you all have to stretch to give you more flexibility?(mine seems to have gone missing and I think it may take a while to return!) and also is there any other training you would do to help strength?

Anyway, thanks for reading my ramble!

    Lindsey x

Congrats on your twins!!!! Give the elbow time off until it feels better. Something to remember, most spins are not beginner (or getting back into pole) moves. So save those for after you have done some strength work on the pole first! You’ll find tons of information here and in the lessons for building strength, conditioning and stretching. All of the lessons on the site are placed in order and organized so you can focus on what you need to, like flexibility and strength. The 30 day take off program is part of the lessons, and will give you guidance as to what to work on every day for 30 days. It’s not a challenge but a program to build strength and prevent overuse injury. You’ll also find a lot of helpful information in the lesson descriptions as well! Here’s a video that explains it a bit more.
