  • Help with forearm press up?

Hey all! So I’ve been wanting to do a forearm press up and would love some advice. To get into the handstand I still have to give a little hop/push off from the floor, so I’m not getting full range of motion for the move. The couple times I did hop just enough to press up the rest of the way it felt like the muscles engaged are different/unlike any other move I’ve done so far. Like the super deep and towards the back. So any advice to build towards the press up? Maybe some strength training exercises on the floor?

Have you tried going into a forearm stand, straddling the legs, then lowering your legs are close to the ground as you can get them, and then lifting them back up? Try some reps of those, maybe. That’s how we train at my studio
