Are there any well known routines to ‘Biting Down’ by Lorde?
Posted by KristaCNH on May 27, 2014 at 6:29 amI’m thinking of making a new routine to this song & wanted to make sure there are not any famous or well known routines already recently done to it. Pole etiquette! 🙂 Thanks!

I’ve never even heard the song, but I wouldn’t worry much about whether or not there is another routine out there to the same song. There was a post about this a while back… My personal opinion is that it would be poor pole etiquette if someone were to actually get upset if someone did a routine to the same song! (Different story if it’s the same choreo without giving credit – that’s not cool)
People don’t get to “claim” a song in any way just by performing to it 🙂 -
Not that I know of. Usually if I want to see who danced to what song I’ll search youtube EX: biting down lorde pole dance. I also switch the words around and do another search in case – but it seems so far you have a song that hasn’t been done.

No but I LOVE dancing to that song. It has a lot strong beats for dramatic poses, crescendos toward said dramatic poses, and good opps for hair whips 😉

This is a song that has been on my “potential performance” list for quite some time. Finally, the perfect event has come about, so I will finally be able to use it. I didn’t event think about wether anyone else had danced to the song before, and neither should you. If you like it and it compels you to dance, then dance. There is no pole etiquette on music unless it’s the dancer’s personal composition. Or if they had a special mix created, then I would think the mix is off limits, but any other version of the song is up for grabs. It’s an awesome song and I hope you decide to use it if that’s what you desire.

I really appreciate that most of you seem to have the opposite feeling from mine about the song issue! The general impression I’m getting is that as long as you bring your own effort/style to it and don’t borrow the other person’s choreography etc. no one really cares if you duplicate a song. Does anyone out there seeing this not feel this way? I really like this song in part because it’s the sort of piece of music you can use to create an actual piece of meaningful dramatic art, rather than a sort of caricature. So we’ll see … but Phoenix, I don’t think I want to do mine at the same event as yours 😉

I personally like seeing lots of different dances to a song I like.

KristaCNH, I won’t be performing to this song at a US event. It will be out of the country. So take that song and work magic. It’s all yours 🙂
